I plugged it into my pci-e slot. connected the 6-pin connector from my psu, and booted up.
Nothing shows up on my monitor, its just in an idle state.
I tried clearing cmos but still nothing
Any help is appreciated

Suggestion 1: Try switching your Monitor's plug from one DVI to the other. This shouldn't do anything, because your graphic card should display the booting sequence on all connected monitors... however, doesn't hurt to try.

Suggestion 2: New graphic cards are quite a power-hungry monsters... are you sure your power supply is up to the task?
Your current configuration could help in this regard + the make, model and rated Wattage of your PSU.

HI!Could you write me the graphics cards that supports the asus p5vd2-mx se motherboard?because i have a problem with asus 8800gts.when i fit the card, the pc doesn't boot up,while when i fit my old...

Its is possible that the power supply isnt powering the graphics card, because of the power needed to run the fan and gpu. It is a more updated card than the 8600gt with more graphics processing speeds and capabilities, so it is possible you will have to buy a new power pack with more wattage.

I suggest that you need to buy the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB graphics card. It is compatible to your ASUS motherboard. It will display and work faster.

Graphics card for motherboard

Hi there.
That motherboard will support a Gforce 8400 PCI Express card and above, and of course you will be able to play the latest games on providing you upgrade your system memory too.
Here is a link to tech specs on the Gforce 8400 >>>>>>>>>

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8400_tech_specs.html

Youcan get this card or one thats higher specs if you like but the Gforce8400 is a very good card and i think you will like it.

Have fun and thanks for using FixYa!!

I have a P5VD2-MX motherboard, currently I have a Geforce 7900GS.

Hi!

Since there is 1 PCI Express x16 slot you can use any PCI Express GPU, like Asus GeForce GTX 260 896MB PhysX CUDA, EVGA GeForce 9800GT 512MB PhysX CUDA, Gainward GeForce 9800GT 512MB PhysX CUDA or whatever you want as long as it is a PCI EPRESS card.

Good luck
Nic

Unable to boot up

Hi,

The problem is of the display side so if possible connect the pci
display card or can repaire the mother board, If not then only solution is to change the mother board.

Thanks
