Sounds like the Sound Card is faulty if it can't be detected all the time. I would say to return that sound card and get another one of the same make and model. If it does the same thing then you know that sound card is not compatible with your moterboard, at that point I would try looking for updates for that sound card to see if there are any fixes for it.
If the new one is recognized and works fine then you know the original one is faulty. Also try that sound card on another computer to verify if its a motherboard issue. It might work fine on another computer.
When you reinstalled (not rebooted, which you should do it every day) you forgot to install the driver for the audio - go to http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/ddaStep.asp?Tab=All
to download all of them.
1)Load up control panel 2) Access your system icon 3) Get into the Hardware Manager
In that hardware manager click scan for hardware changes. The sound and audio section should expand with a yellow question mark. Click on the icon and choose Update Driver.
Hello, I just had the same problem... It has to do with the connectors from the power harness. Found this on the internet and it did the trick for me... Goodluck! It seems like it's only a matter of time before the digi002 (rack and non-rack) have this problem. You'll go to turn it on and the mute light turns on and nothing else. You don't hear the 3 clicks that you usually hear when turning it on. Your computer doesn't recognize it. Then you start swearing and promising to quit recording forever. After all that happens, you have 2 options:
1. call digidesign. they've been replacing the power harness (source of problem) for just about everyone, even if you're out of warranty and it's free (including the tech support over the phone). don't pay them anything. maybe shipping.
2. most people seem to have the same problem after a while after getting their new power harness. lots of people are saying it's not even the harness - just the connectors. so last night i had this problem and i opened up the top of the box and unplugged and plugged back in the little rubber-covered wires going from the power cord to the rest of the 002. turned it on. works fine. i may try to use some of that connector-cleaner from GC if it happens again.
so if you find this happening, don't panic. try the above. takes 5-10 minutes (only because of all of the screws)
your problem is very simple. please check the didi key board seriel pin.some time the seriel pin is broken. your goole problem is network problem.please check the network connectivity. otherwise operating system problem.sometimes while your installing the operating system some files missing. so first check your computer network and serial port.
thanks & records
This product is JUNK. An associate of mine advised me to purchase this piece. It worked less than six months. Now the unit is fourteen months old. Lexicon said they'd be happy to have me return it along with a money order, certified check or credit card number because the charge would be $75.00 flat to either repair mine and send it back to me, or replace the entire unit.
The associate who advised me to purchase this piece of gear works on microcircuits each day in his line of work. He uses microscopes to examine his work. One day when his Omega quit working, he opened it up on his bench where he identified numerous cold-solder joints. He repaired them and the unit worked for about three months before becoming unstable. He opened it up a second time and noticed all the jacks were starting to get loose.
At that point, be became aware of the $75.00 option with Lexicon. Instead, he deposited his Omega into the dumpster behind his place of employment. Today, his unit is a part of the landfill in Dallas, Texas.
LEXICON ABSOLUTELY KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THE OMEGA. LEXICON SHOULD REPLACE THE UNITS AT NO COST; CONSUMER PAYS SHIPPING IS FINE WITH ME. TWENTY YEARS AGO, LEXICON BUILT RUGGED AND DEPENDABLE GEAR. IT IS TOO BAD THEIR FINE NAME IS ON SUCH A PIECE OF ****. I'M AFRAID I'M DONE WITH LEXICON, FOREVER. IT WOULD BE TOO DIFFICULT TO CONSIDER PURCHASE OF ANYTHING WITH THE NAME ON IT.
easy. Your clock got screwed by one of your audio programs in you system. It Happens when sample rates are mixes up. Leave your digi 002 on it does not set itself other than the factory sample rate setting when primarily switched on, which will remember its last setting if mixed up in an attempt to recover. Leave it on turn your system on. Then turn your system off. Not the digi. just your pc, mac. The software utilizing the previously screwed up sample rate will or should be reset. thus resetting your digi 2 to its factory 44. If it does not work check your software settings for any audio software set as default to run when pc is started ans make sure they are set to play back 44. Never turn your pc off when a program using your digi faulters.
