I couldn't find your model of watch so I looked at the only accuquartz instructions on the list.

The instructions say that you should never change the date between 9p.m. and 3 a.m. as it might affect the accuracy and the date.

If you haven't got a copy of the instructions, it might be useful to look at their web site "boluva.com",
after choosing your region click on one of the images and then on "service center". Choose your instructions form those listed ( I think yours is under "Accutron". Use the slider on the right to scroll through the offerings.

If after following there instructions closely you are still having problems, a visit to a local dealer may be needed.

Any idea what a Bulova watch, 14K white gold, number on back case 962158. Any idea what it is worth?

I'd need more info. First, is it a "real" Accutron, made from '60 to '77, or is it one of the things Bulova kept calling Accutrons after they stopped making the tuning fork movement watches? The quartz so-called Accutrons are just a nice old watch, not worth anything special. The self-wind "Accutrons", which Bulova is making now, are just a nice, mid-range aurtomatic watch. On the back of Bulova watches is a date code, usually right under the serial number (SNs themselves really mean nothing where Accutrons are concerned). The code is a letter and a number. If it begins with the letter M, or if it begins with the letter N and is followed with a 0, 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. or 6, it is a "real" Accutron, and is collectible. Some with N7 (1977) are also, but it depends on the actual watch. Bulova did make some quartz so-called Accutrons in '77. If it's a '60 thru '76, and SOME '77s, it has value beyond the scrap gold price. SOME Accutrons are even worth thousands of dollars. White gold Accutrons, compared o yellow gold or stainless, are rarer. Next, WHICH Accutron is it? is it a 214, a 218, a 219, a 220, a 224, or a 230? If it's a man's watch, it is very unlikely to be a 220 or 230 series, If it does not have a winding stem on the side, it is a 214. 214s are the most valuable. If it has a setting stem at 3 o'clock or 4 o'clock, it is either a 218 or 219 (I'd have to open the back and look at the movement to say which ine). If it says "Accuquartz" on the face, it's a 224 (NOT a quartz - the 224 Accuquartz is a hybrid of tuning fork and quartz crystal). Once we know the movement series, we need the case type. Certain cases are much more valuable than others. Then there are the Spaceview, the Astronaut, and the Deep Sea, 3 specific models they made, which are more valuable than most (but not all) of the other cases. The best I can say right now is that, being white gold, there's a good chance it's one of the more desireable specific models. If it's a 214, ESPECIALLY if it's a 1960 (M0), it's worth quite a bit more than just the gold content. To be more specific, I'd have to see a picture of the watch, which I don't think can be posted here. Try looking up "Accutron" on Ebay and see if you can find one that, if yours has a stem, has it in the same place as yours, with the exact same case - same shape, and exact same lugs (the things on either end where the band or strap is attached). Read the description. The description will probably say the movement (214, 218, etc - in fact, the movement may even be in the listing title) and if it is niot just a plain round case, probbly will say the case type (Alpha, Asymmetric, Butterfly, etc.). If it's an Astronaut, a Spaceview, or a Deep Sea, it will certainly say that. Also, look at the Accutron section of the Bulova entry in Wikipedia. (Yeah, I wrote it, but it has info that just might help you pin down exactly what you have) When you find out more about which Accutron it is, post another question under Axcutron watches here. I'll check every couple of days for the next week or so, and if I see your post, I'll narrow down the value some more.

Curtis and Co. Big Time 3 zone watch w/ temp gauge. What does the stem positioned at aprox 10 O'clock control? It is near the temp guage but does not seem to control anything.

Crown(stem) at 10 O'clock has air inlet for temperature, does not move. Crown at 8 O'clock is for setting 3rd time zone next to it. The two buttons on the right of the case, above and below, set 2nd time zone which is at the 6 O'clock position of the large dial. To set #2 push top button till min. hand moves 1 min., then push bottom button to move 1 min each time or hold for rapid movement. Large crown sets date and large dial. Unscrew it (counterclockwise) then pull out to first click, then set date turning crown clockwise, continue to pull out till 3rd click which is where you set the time on the large dial.

SETTING DATE&TIME

i cant get a manual for this but watches have standard mechanical function so maybe this will do.
the center crown of the watch right side of the picture, loosen the crown. Be careful, some crown have a screw function so if your bulova has this don't force to pull it to prevent damage. if you have loosen the crown, check if can be turn it, if yes pull gently the crown, first pull date adjust, second pull time adjust.
This is the proper way to adjust you day and time.
say you want to adjust your watch to (date)10th (time)10:15am
adjust your date to 9th, then move your watch hands clockwise until the date change at 12oclock this is the evening time (PM) continue moving your watch hands until you reach 10:15am.
if your crown is a screw time remember to turn it close tightly for waterproofing.

Westclox model LTX271 instructions for setting day

mcdevito75 here, The stem on your westclox has 2 positions, First pull the stem out to set the time of day, keep cycleing the watch until you come to 1 day before the day you want. NOW! push the stem back in. NOW! slip a finger nail just under the crown and gently, gently kift the crown to it"s first position, it may take a little practice so be patient, once in it's first position you can change the DATE easily, change the DATE to 1 DATE before the DA you want, push the syem back in and pull the stem back out and set the day/date and time of day. Your watch is set and will change on time a little past mid nite.

I'm tryng to set the date without changing the day and time. I've tried to just pull the pin out half way but its not working. How do I do this? My watch has three dials on the face - 1)date, 2) day and 3)...

mcdevito75 here, It takes practice, the crown does have 2 positions, slip a fingernail just under the crown and lift to it"s first position this will allow you to change the DATE (number) once you get the correct Date, push tje crown back in, NOW! pull the crown out to set the DAY itself and the time. On some watches the crowns first position allows both the day and date to be changed by turning the crown in it"s first position clock wise and counter clock wise.

How to set time, date, and alarm

there should be a manuel online that is downloadable from Bulova. This is the best way to find out how to set it short of taking it to a jeweler.
Generally, with the crown pulled out in different positions the push buttons will change the position of your subdial hands.

I dont know how to set time

Some 70s quartz watches used quite a different system where you push the crown in, hold for a while (perhaps 5-10 sec) then release it and push and hold it back in again immediately. At this point, the ends should set off advancing at many time their normal rate so you can alter the time.
Complex, I know.

SECTOR CHRONOGRAPH 200 WATCH

That's easy. You need to calibrate it. In normal time mode, pull the crown out all the way and then use the pushers to step it back to the zero position. When finished, push the crown back in. You can also calibrate the sub-dails in a similar fashion.
