Wow..you'll need to get a data recovery expert to 'snapshot' your drive to attempt to recover your data. I'd suggest that the 'drop' did a major mechanical deal, like a head impact crash. Not good. A local tech store/computer shop MIGHT have the tools to extract the data. Last time I checked, it runs from 100 to 300 bucks, depending on what kind of files are retrieved.

It fall on the floor then i connected it to my pc

Sorry, the hard disk was damaged and this is unfixable, junk it. Try to open the case and extract it, maybe if you connect it directly it will work long enough to recover some of the data you stored on it.

HELP MY HARD DRIVE HAS GONE!

Ok to understand this , you dropped a 1 TB hard-drive external hard drive on the floor? Well considering that it is a external, the cases in most externals are meant to take a beating as well as the hard-drive it self. There is two possiblities I can think of, what could of happened. When the Hard-Drive hit the floor, it could of is disconnected the connection on the hard-drive itself inside the casing, which you will have to pop it open and reseat it. Or the hardrive, arm inside the hard-drive it self snapped or is misplaced, which is unrepairable. Open up the casing and looking for the hardrive it self. Towards the back of the hard-drive is where the connection of th drive is, it is eather sata or orginal set up with his pins based. Take the connection off and put it back on and see if that works, if it didnt, best advise would be is take in in and have the drive tested, see if its still operable.

Hi I have a Lacie External Harddrive 500gb, when I connect my hard drive to my computer it does not open, instead it gives me a message saying that " disk is not formatted"?

The disk was probably dropped or jolted. You can consider the drive bad now. The arm is broken inside. You can format the drive but most likely it won't work after that. Getting the data retrieved can cost up to $2500-$5000.

The drive letter and USB port are not inherently tied together. you can give it a drive letter as long as nothing else is going to use that letter inherently, and be fine. Did giving it "F" work?

''No files found'' Lacie Silverscreen 500gb

You'll need data recovery to fix this problem. If the hard drive makes broken sounds there is a hardware problem. You can try to do data recovery yourself, there is some good content on youtube. If you want somebody else to do it for you there is Data Recovery NYC. Also there is good informaation on logic board repairs on hddguru.com.

Lacie 120GB dropped

If you open it up you will see that the drive is a regular computer drive. You should be able to plug it into a computer as a secondary drive and try to get the data off. But if it's clicking and making noises there may be no hope. Sorry!
