Question about Eiki LC-XG210 Projector Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

EIKI LC-XG210 When there is only white background projected I see faint pink swirls acrost the bottom of the screen. I think that there is probably some dust on one of the internal lenses or displays. Is this possible or is something else wrong? If dust is the problem, how difficult would it be for me to take the projector apart and clean it? I'm pretty handy at that kind of stuff. My concern is that there are adjustments that need to be made inorder to line up the displays that would take special equipment. Another problem I have had occasionally is a that a faint circle of discoloration appears at the center of the projected image. The size is approxamately 1/3 of the picture. It looks like it might only be caused by the red LCD panel. Is this a serious problem? Wht causes it and how do I fix it? Thanks!

3-way wall switch left in up/down position

Most Projection screens which are electronically operated have a couple of switches inside, so that when the motor runs to the stop point, the switch activates and the motor stoops. The central point is there purely to allow you to have the screen at a custom height, say to make a 4:3 screen appear as 16:9 without loads of white space around the picture. Also, if the motor didn't stop, it wouldn't burn out at low point, as it would simply wind the screen back up the wrong way round the axle.

Hope that helps.

Projector stays on for a while then shuts down

Two things that usually gives this symptom. One, internal heat sensor will shut down projector if extreme heat is present, usually caused by dirty filters, fan failure, etc. Two, your bulb has reached its life end.
