Question about Sharp 32R-S50 32" TV

1 Answer

No channels? I have a 32R-S50 Sharp TV. It is hooked up to a cable wire for basic cable, no box just the wire hook up. When the tv is turned on, it gets the one channel. When you push the remote or the tv channel to change channels up or down, it only goes to Input 1 or Input 2. It never changes from the one channel. I only see the one location to connect the cable wire, so what else would be the problem?

Try going into the setup menu and make sure the ANT input is set to cable. Then look for Auto Program or Channel Setup and let it scan and find all the channels it can receive. After it's done you should be able to go up and down through the channels.

I don't know how to set the tv to receive all of the channels

Enter the "menu" and select auto program. This will allow the set to search for all available channels. There is also a possibility that when you hooked it up the little wire center conductor in the cable might have been bent over when you hooked it up. Check that first.

If you are in the US or other area that has only digital signals now, it could only be used with a converter or with some remaining cable and satellite providers. Not worth much-

New Sharp Aquos LCD 46 TV

If you hooked up the satelite box to your tv Automaticly the Satelite box is the one who pick up the channels (from the satelite)
In this case your tv is acting as a monitor only. Try to connect your tv with HDMI cable or COMPONENT cable for best picture. Don't use RF antenna input to hook up your Satelite Box. Hope this Helps

Female coax connector in tv bad?

If your cable converter box has audio/video connections on the back of it,you don't need to worry about using that RF coax connector. Just hook it up the same way your DVD is hooked to the TV input jack. Get a 3-wire cable (yellow-red-white)hook it to the same colors on the back of the cable box and hook the other end to an unused input on the back of the TV. Then select that input with your remote and watch TV.

Same channel on all channels

Yeppers it certanly sounds like the tuner control curcuit or the tuner itself is bad. With the back off the set and the tV on, if you tap on the side of the tuner does the set start to work? if so the tuner has to be replaced
