Yesterday Jan 26, I bought an STP-120 SIMA power inverter in Miami's Airport, just before taking off, to be able to use, in flight , my Acer Laptop plugged into aircaft's business class DC power circa15 volts outlet. I connected my laptop 110/240 volts adapter to the AC output of STP-120 inverter and the input receptacle to the air DC output. At this point the STP-120 goes green for a few moments, so does the laptop adapter then it becomes red and the charging light of the laptop, turns off. Can you assist? Is the SIMA inverter too weak? Is 15 volts aircraft's dc ouput too high? Thanks,

What is the model of the power adapter you are using? Also, what is the AC wattage or amperage of the AC adapter. Usually this figure is shown right after the voltage rating? Pay attention to only the AC wattage or amperage, as this is the actual load being placed on the inverter. If possible, try the inverter on a "known good" power source. It is possible that the DC power on the plane is limited and cannot provide adequate power to the inverter once it is under load.
