Call (1-888-648-7820)

As part of the radio's anti-theft system on some older model year vehicles (2002 and older), the radio resets itself whenever it loses power from the vehicle's battery. Radio security codes are associated with each individual radio unit rather than the vehicle identification number (VIN) (since a vehicle could have the radio replaced). The radio security code must be input in the radio in order for the radio to work.

When you purchased your vehicle, you should have received a card that lists the four digit security code for the radio. If you are unable to locate this card (sometimes owners find it inserted in the Owner's Manual or glove box), the radio will need to be removed so that you can locate the Part Number and Serial Number for your specific radio. The Part Number typically begins with the letters 'MR' and the Serial Number is generally a string of digits and both numbers can be located on the audit unit's chassis.

Please contact your local Authorized Mitsubishi Dealer if you need assistance removing the radio. Once the Part Number and the Serial Number are in hand, your Dealer can access the security code for that radio. You may also contact our Customer Relations Call Center at 1-888-MITSU2011 (1-888-648-7820) and one of our agents will be happy to provide you with the security code and steps to reset the radio as long as you have the Part Number and Serial Number for your radio unit. Agents are available Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (PT). Best of all they will give it to you free

1994 mitsubishi 3000gt/sl has infinity stereo. have security code and still cant get the radio to come on. can you help? all it says is oFF now

I just figured everything out and it's pretty easy. First though, if you're seeing "off", from what I understand it's because you put in a code that wasn't right. You only have 3 chances before it shuts you out. Leave it alone for about an hour and try again. All you need to do now is write down your vin # (mine was on the car inside the drivers side door) then pop off the cover of your radio with a flat head screw driver. After that, there are 4 phillips head screws holding the radio in, remove those and the radio will lift right out. Don't pull too hard because you could unhook some wires. On the top of the radio you'll find a sticker with the serial number and the model number. Write those down. Go the the Mitsubishi website and hit either "help or mobile", sorry, I forgot which one. That'll take you to a list of problems, etc.. Click on radio code and fill out the short form that will ask for the serial #, the model # and the vin #. The code will be sent to your email, mine came immediately. Then just follow the very easy steps. It really is easy plus you won't have to call the dealership. It took me about half an hour. Good luck! I hope this helps.

I need a raidio code for a 2001 mitsubishi galant- Model # MR472958 Serial # 99E55715 Ref # CQ-JB1911LA

Your code is 3053

Use preset 1 to set digit 1, preset 2 to set digit 2, etc
Once the code displayed is correct, push your unlock button to unlock the radio.
The unlock button varies by model, but is always either AM/FM, CD, or TAPE.
There is no penalty for pushing the wrong unlock button as long as your code is correct.

If you have locked out the radio from failed code attempts (radio reads "OFF", you will need to leave the key in the ACCESSORY position with the radio displaying OFF for approximately 1 hour. After which time the radio will revert to CODE and you can enter your code then.

I need a code to unlock my car radio for a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, please...\r\nI have the information needed to do so... Serial number : 99224138A MR472958 Thank you so much!

Your code should be 2101.

Use the preset buttons to input the code. Preset 1 scrolls through digit 1, preset 2 for digit 2, etc.

Once the code is set, push the unlock button; depending on model the unlock button will be either CD, TAPE, or AM/FM.

Unfortunately the majority of MITSUBISHI codes (including yours) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Factory stereo code

Factory radio codes are an anti-theft deterrent, they are unique to each radio and car serial number, in order to get the code the dealer will have to access the manufacturers data base, you will need to pull the radio and record the radio model number and the serial number of the chassis of the radio and take it to the dealer, they will not in most cases give the info out over the phone, this would defeat the whole purpose of the code.

RADIO CODE FOR 2001 MITSUBISHI GALANT

dealerships charge way too much. use an online source for less than half what a dealer would charge you for a simple procedure. all you have to do is remove the face over the radio and pull the radio out to find serial & model numbers. then an online source will send you the code. just be sure you read serial & model numbers correctly.
