I don't know why there is no audio in Media player unless you somehow turned it off. You might go through the menus at the top of the screen to see if there is a setting for audio on/off. Also, you might try playing your movies in Quicktime (a free download from Apple).

I can watch my footage on my cam but when i plug my usb in to my cpu they ar not able 2 play back or viable i have a jvc gz hd3u

Hello,
You may not have the proper CODEC installed on your PC for AVCHD videos. Try using VideoLAN or kmplayer to play the video. These multi-format players have most common CODEC's bundled. If you want to play the files with windows media player try installing a codec pack. You can google for that, but I recommend using one of the mentioned players instead as it is cleaner and they are fast.
If your PC does play the video but its really choppy, you might not have a fast enough processor / or video card to keep up with the high bandwidth high def video.

I've a JVC GZ HM400 and when i upload the videos onto the computer they dont play correctly.the video starts to pause while the audio runs perfectly.does anybody know what the problem is?i think it records...

You need a new video card for your computer. It is an easy thing to fix if you have a desktop, but there's not much you can do if it is a laptop. To make sure it is recording fine, take the A/V Cable and plug it into a TV and see if it plays correctly. If you don't mind if the videos aren't HD then take it out of AVCHD mode by changing the quality in the menu. If might play better on your computer if the files are not full 1080p HD.

I want to get the video on my JVC GR-AXM17U VHS-C Camcorder to my computer. What do I need to make this happen

Software, Cables. Thats about it. There are a couple of ways to do it. If your JVC has a USB port & cable then using the software that came with the camera, OR downloaded from the manufacturers web site, install that, THEN connect the camera up, most likely it will show up as a "Drive" then you should be able to simply Copy & Paste your files as normal. Then once on PC you can manipulate them however you want. IF you have Composite Video & Audio OUT on JVC, and you have some method of getting Video & Audio INTO your PC, then you can also use this, Plug it all in, start your "Recording" software, then Press Play on JVC, You can get USB Video input dongles, 7 or, some video cards allow Video IN too.

Downloading Video to my Computer from a JVC GR-SXM920

You need a video capture card that supports analog inputs. Connect the video and audio out jacks from the camera to the computer. You will need some sort of software also. The Movie Maker software that comes with Windows XP would work.
The little cord that came with the camera will not transfer the video.

JVC-Digital Video Camera

If it is a JVC digital camera (DVC or hard drive) you need to have the camera set to the "Play" mode, and turned on before plugging in the camera. Vista should recognize it as a digital source afterwards. You need to have a firewire or USB cable for the camera, and the port it plugs into needs to be recognized. Be sure you don't have an unrecognized device in /Control Panels/Device Manager/

Hope this helps. [email protected]

Audio meltdown!!

Use a head cleaner tape (available on eBay most likely) and clean the recording heads.
