Unable to get my laptop to recognize it with the software provided. I would like to find the driver or whatever to get them to communicate with each other. Somewhat of a novice here - I know shocking right? : ) Janet

Try using Windows media player. If your computer is a new one, most likely your player will be recognized but the original software of your goGear will not work. Just use windows Media Player because it has native drivers for almost all devices. hope this helps.
Once selected the correct model, the corresponding
"Software and drivers" can be selected in the left column.
A new page will open with all matching and available downloads:
software for the computer, firmware and updates for the device.
You must use the Philips (ArcSoft) Media Converter that came on the installation CD. If you lost your CD, you can find it at www.usasupport.philips.com - enter your model # and go to the Software & Drivers section of your model #. It will say Media converter software.
You must use the Media Convertor software that came with the GoGear installation CD to convert all video files into a format that the GoGear recognizes. If you lost the CD or manual, go to the Philips website - they have both available for download. Under software and drivers, select "Media converter Software"; under documentation, click "User's Manauls" -Tha Mp3 Doctor
Go to: www.usasupport.philips.com Enter your model number On the next page, click on your exact model number without the "B" on the end On the next page, click on "software and drivers"
If the software and drivers section doesn't help, then go to the FAQ for model SA6087 - there is a patch you can download under the section My GoGear is not recognized by PC - it works for most models of GoGear.
Check which version of Windows Media Player you have loaded.
Open Windows Media Player. Click "Help" and "about". This should show which version you have.
Windows Automatic Updates may hve updated to version 11.
The Philips HDD6330 is only compatible with version 10 under Windows XP.
If you have version 11, then uninstall and it should roll back to version 10.
