I can not turn off my unit

Please i need help , i can not turn off my unit, the power button doesnt response neither the buttons on the touch screen.

please help me

Just had same problem. use fingernail under the Garmin insignia on front (it's silver) and pull out a little. There's a reset button on the right.

We have a Leapster 2 which the screen no longer registers when touched by the pen. Can this be fixed or replaced? i bought it only 2 months ago hope you can help Emma


I posted a solution to this problem a couple months ago. We have the Cars edition of the Leapster2. I'm guessing it was the same problem that we were having. When the pen touched the screen there was no response and the unit had barely been used. Try this!! I found it on www.ehow.com.

Callibration
  • If you touch your stylus pen to the screen of your Leapster2 and it does not respond, your unit needs to be calibrated. To do this, make sure no game cartridge is in the unit. Turn the unit on while you are holding down the "Hint" or "?" button. Keep holding the button down until the Leapster2 menu appears. You will need to turn off the unit and repeat these steps if you do not see the menu. When the menu comes onto the screen, press the "A" button and use the stylus pen to touch each of the crosshairs as they appear. When you are done, your unit should be properly calibrated.

    Touch screen doesnt work only used three times


    1.hold down the hint button while turning the unit on.
    2.when leapster menu screen appears, press the A button.
    3. touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
    4. you restart unit.

    Hi Can u please tell me how to calibrate my Designer 1? Have not done it for a few years and now I've forgotten. Also my touch screen is only partially responding....I'm not getting any response...


    Hi Vina, Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue! ** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again.     Can not get past I agree, no response when touching screen.


    did u try reseting the unit?
    if yes but still same then pls try to calibarate ur screen.

    turn off ur device,
    while off, hold the upper-left corner of the screen while turning the power on
    leave the power button when its on but continue holding(30 secs) the upper-left corner of the screen untill "Press dot" appears.

    Touch screen and push buttons are not responseive.


    Make sure the switch on the side that locks the buttons is not switched on. To be safe, switch it on (so that the red shows) then off.

    I've tried the Home and A button several places... and it seems to work for others but not me :( I was about to give up then I found another way to reset the screen - Hope it works for you!

    1. Unit must be OFF and NO cartridge
    2. Hold down the HINT (?) button while turning the unit on
    3. When Leapster menu screen appears, press the A button
    4. Touch each of the cross hairs that appear with the stylus
    5. Restart unit
