WEBCAM NOT WORKING THROUGH SKYPE

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I no longer have a problem. I changed several things:

1. Uninstalled Logitec Webcam program and re-installed it with the Installation CD.
2. Updated Explorer,
3, Plugged the USB directly to the back of the tower (instead of the front).

I was still transmitting a "grainy" picture of myself and did change the lighting setup WHEN I need a better picture, for instance talking to my relatives overseas, and since I have a very bright window to my right, I would face the window to get that light facing me AND I would reposition the monitor and webcam to face me in that new setup. Vast improvement.

I believe this is a problem not only with skype but also yahoo messenger. The usb ports seem to go funny. i think it is a virus passed when you viewed a persons webcam. this is the error p1110vfw.dll i get and it crashes both messenger and skype when i turn on webcam.

are you using a router in your computer configuraton, if so check the ports that are open for transmission of cam video signal. Also slow internet connection would have a major effect on the ability to use video, more so on some services then on others, but all would be affected to some degree. But first of all, verify that you can see yourself or other scenes in your cam, before assuming that Skype is the only problem

how to conect microsoft life cam to skype

i have a logitech quickcam for notebooks, i can see myself on the screen when i click on the dropdown box for the logitech. but cannot get it to the screen for skype so they can see me.

It is new skype version problem. It worked with old skype version and stoped after I put new computer with new skype in the same network with the same cam.
