Make sure the switches are connected EXACTLY as the original ones, maybe one was connected incorrectly. It also can be the controller board.

Turntable won't spin so microwave won't heat

Is it possible to take the glass plate out, if so, please remove the glass plate, switch on the microwave for 10 secs and watch through the door to see if you can see the centre spindle turning round? Try this and get back to me please

Goldstar MV1501W not heating or turntable, light/display does wrk

micro switch is bad .remove top vent cover 4 screws, after removing plastic vent panel you will see 1 screw above display time window, remove this screw and lift up the complete button time control panel slightly and pull towards you to remove.there are 2 connections on this panel 1 is a 12 pin connector and a 2 pin power connection remove both put control panel aside.now there are 3 micro switches where the door pins close into the oven lock, remove 2 screws that hold the micro switch housing,on the bottom of housing you will see a small clip gently pull to the right and push back to remove .there are 2 switches on bottom of it and 1 on top. the 1 on top is normally open and closes when door is shut but like mine it stayed open and resulted in (light s display but no turntable)soon as i replaced upper microswitch it runs perfect.i hope this helps .MODEL MV1501W GOLDSTAR

Microwave oven will not heat food

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part (such as a shorted diode)

If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

While I don't have the exact manual, I have a similar manual which I have uploaded to our site. It may help you or a friend with diagnosis. It's here.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

It's probably a bad door switch or door switch mount.

The most likely causes are defective a door switch (or switch mount), a bad connection in the high voltage section, or on the controller. I would direct you to my safety text file and door switch text file for critical safety info anf info on testing & replacing door switches. You can find it via searching on Yahoo.com (not Google) for: microwave safety.txt After you check that out, please repost so we can hel you further.

Turntable Problem

If it jumps or moves just a little when you open the door, that is normal. It it actually runs, then you have a problem. Quite often this is due to a bad door switch. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP button) is the primary cause of door switch failure. You can visit my Web site at _ or e-mail at _ if you'd like more in information on diagnosing and repairing this problem.
