I would need more information as to which TV (1 or 2) you're experiencing the problem with, but if this is a new TV it sounds like you may need to change the modulator setup.
You can find the setting under Menu -> System Setup -> Installation -> Modulator Setup. If this is TV1, change the TV 1 Out to channel 3 or 4 depending on what you have listed. If this is TV2; change the mode from air to cable or cable to air and then put the TV on the channel it shows after selecting done to save the settings.
If you can provide more information or have any other questions let me know!
Hi donsol45my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was reading over your post abouthooking up your DVD player to play. If you are using RCA cables that have Red,White and Yellow for tips. You can connect them directly to your TV and it willrun off your Video Input 1, 2 or 3 and if you're still having a problem please e-mailme. Michael.email@example.com
Hello, this Luke. Hooking the 508 to any TV is just like hooking a DVD to TV. Just used whichever cable available to you. e.g. RCA, coax. But if you want to have Satellite programming to that receiver, that would be a different thing. You will have to call Dish to add that receiver to your account with them. They will verify that receiver if it is registered to an account with debt and add it to your account if it is clear. They might need to send an installer to hook it up. Let me know if this help.
Hi jpdcmc I was reading overyour post and there is one thing I wanted to add. If the program is notbroadcast in Dolby 5.1 when you do the playback it won't play back in Dolby5.1. I will leave a link so you can verify all steps are done to insure yourgetting Dolby playback. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/dolby-not-working
Hey there! Becki Barned from Dish Network customer service here. The black borders are usually caused by watching standard definition programming on a high definition television. Try to change the format on your tv. Either by pressing the * button below the 7, or trying a format or display button on the original tv remote. Hope this helps!!!
Dish network receiver only have outputs. There are not any inputs on the receiver that would allow this but if your dvd player has an iput source you could run the Dish receiver to it and then the dvd player to the TV. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Thanks for using FIx Ya and let me know if I can further assist you.
Is your DVD player a DVD/VCR combo? If so, hook the "tv out" (sometimes called "ant out" ) to the "ant in" on the DVD/VCR, then hook the "ant out" of the DVD/VCR to the "ant in" on the tv. Then make sure the DVD/VCR and TV are on the appropriate channel (3 or 4).
If it's NOT a combo, or these instructions don't work for you, i will need pictures of the inputs/outputs of the devices.
