Question about Dewalt DW746X 10" woodworker's table saw with rai

Jet 12" Band Saw

My top tire keeps coming off. Do I need a new one? Or is there adhesive to hold it one. Its fits snug, however when you run your finger around it, there is a small pucker.

Those tires do wear out expecially if you have a tendency to over tighten the band. At presenr, Woodworkers Emporium has replacement tires made of plastic and they are hard to replace but work great. In the meantime, you should apply contact cement to the wheel and the tire. This is usually a good fix but when you do replace the tire, the wheel must be cleaned of any cement etc.

How do I adjust the blade to stay on?

Many times this is caused by worn beearings or a worn rubber "tire" on the idler or drive wheel.

I can't keep the blade onblack decker 12 inch band saw

There could be a problem with the tension and tracking. Make sure the tires are not worn out. Try to install new blade too, apply the right tension. Also, place the deepest gullet of the blade on the center of the tire. Check sawblade.com for some band saw tips.

Check this blog first. Are you installing a new blade? If the blade is running backwards, you just have to reverse it, turn inside out. Try watching the Alex Snodgrass' Youtube video Band Saw Tune Up .

I need the wheel band (tire/gasket) for the performax 9" band saw

I can't find good supplier for 9" band saw tire. Delta makes 9" saw, you might be able to find one with them , Ebay might be selling 9" tire too. I purchase my tires on bandsawparts.com . They have 6" and 8" diameter tires but it wouldn't fit for your saw.

Tire comes off of wheel

This could be a big wild guess on how the tire comes off on the wheel. But I'll try to help you this thing. I don't know if your bandsaw has adjustment bolt above the upper wheel and below the lower wheel, but in case there is , use these bolts to center the band saw. Well, this could also be blade tension adjustment. Tires should be a very tight fit and a struggle to get on.
Wait, was tired glued on? If not, reglue.
Is that an old tire? If yes, tire must be well worn out and time to invest new ones.
I recommend you to use this time urethane tires rather than rubber tires.
Rubber tires works fine but urethane tires last longer and doesn't need gluing. When you purchase a new tire, make sure that it is a couple of inches smaller than the wheel to stretch the tire. It is a good advice to slightly tilt the top of the drive wheels towards you. I've been purchasing urethane tire with www.bandsawparts.com. Got one from them and still up running. Piece of advise also,Before installing the new tires, you double-check the surfaces of the pulleys to make sure the surfaces are clean and true.

I have 10 inch metal band saw wheels do I buy 9 inch tires so they go on tight

I have a 10" grizzly band saw and installed 10 inch tires on it. No problem with it's tightness. Most industry standard tires today are 6, 8, 10, 12 inches...so a 10 inch tire on a 10 inch metal band saw wheel should have no problem at all. The quality of the tires should be one of your top priorities. That's why I always go for a reputable supplier. Check it out: http://bandsawparts.com.

Hi,

I'm not a Jet tech, just a bandsaw owner.
First, when you are adjusting the tracking knob, are you turning the wheel by hand for several revolutions to be sure which way it is running before making another adjustment? After tweaking it, you should turn it a bit to let it settle in. Also, be sure to tighten the adjustment knob down before turning it on.
The bearing guides have more adjustment places than just the finger adjusters. On mine, a Steel City, I can move the entire guide holders back and forth, and can also move the entire guide set up back and forth. The guides are there to keep your blade from having too much movement while cutting. They are not supposed to actually touch the blade though. I adjust mine with a dollar bill between the guide and blade. If you have one guide that isn't exactly perfect, don't worry about it. The blade guard will also keep the blade from wandering.
I've never used my bandsaw for scrolling work, so am not familiar with the 1/8 inch blade. Should work if you can get your tire adjusted correctly.

Good luck.

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a vote or comment. Thanks,

Handie Andie

Will Delta Belt fit Mastercraft Band Saw

If you still have the old belt, take it to a well equipped hardware or auto parts store for a replacement. If the previous belt is missing, you will need to measure the pulley 'V' width at the top of the 'V', the center to center measurement of the two shafts, and the outer diameters of the two pulleys. Hope this helps!

Tire keeps rolling off

I'd say you have the wrong size tires, or at least defective or poor quality ones. They should be pretty tricky to get onto the wheels, requiring some leverage as you work them on, but they should be a very tight fit which will prevent them from moving. Sounds like the tires are too lose to me.
