Hl-dt-st bddvdrw ch08ls10 lg super multi blue does not recognize dvd+r or dvd+r dl, fres install os fully updated, fully updated firmware. nero does not recognize any drive, device manager does, bundled cyberlink sw does not recognize either. Really makes me want to go to frys and punch sumone in da face.
I am wondering if you absolutely have to have one of the ''recomended'' cpu's for it to work at all?
Click the Windows "Start" button, and open "My Computer" -- if you don't see an icon for the CD/DVD drive, it's not correctly connected:
* no electrical power
* no data-cable
* jumpers on drive (MAster, SLave, CableSelect) improperly set
* just a "defective" drive
Does the drive-tray open/close when you push the button? If so, you do have electrical power.
Do you hear the drive spinning, or feel it vibrating,
when you insert a disk?
Best guess: shutdown your computer, move the "jumper" (MA, SL, CS) on the "back" of the drive to a different position, and restart.
