Hi Brent

hhmmmm, I searched through the manual to find this info for you. It appears that the tone adjustments are initiated by the "tone" button on the REMOTE. I could not find any reference to there being a button to do same on the front of the unit. Odd, but there you go.

  1. Use the tone key(on remote) to get "tone" up on the front of the unit.
  2. Then using the multi up-down keys, turn the "tone on".
  3. Once you have got to here, use the tone key to select "bass" or " treble"
  4. Using the multi up down keys, adjust the tone controls to your liking with the multi up down keys
you can download the manual from

http://www.retrevo.com/s/Kenwood-VR-60RS-Receivers-review-manual/id/480bh239/t/1-2/

Just enter your email address and away you go. Good Luck. A "FixYa" rating would be great for my time to research this for you.

regards
Graeme

Manuals help. Read them. Nothing in your receiver is actually a multichannel source so you'll be needing to understand the external sources that originate that kind of programming. Manuals.

Search Engine of your choice: "(product) manual"

'Large' is not literal in the context of Bass Management. It refers to the ability of a given speaker to handle REAL bass. Yes = Large, No = Small. 'Small' redirects bass from that speaker channel to the sub.

Web search concepts like bass management, speaker placement, multichannel sound, digital audio, etc.

I just need to know if i have the system hooked up right because i'm not getting enough bass

And how would we we would know if you have it set up right? There's not a lot of information here to work with.

What's "ENOUGH" bass? Many things play into bass in the listening environment beside the basic electrical connections. Web search for "subwoofer placement" as a start. I imagine the manual that came with it may address that aspect.

Kenwood VR-60RS Receiver I cannot turn on my Dolby Digital even though my GI cable box is Dolby digital. I read the directions and it told me to click on the Input Mode, but nothing. -justin

Sell this receiver to someone that is not a friend of yours....$50 or best offer...take $20 cuz that's all it's worth. I had one, and it's not worth much more than the box it was shipped in.

Un-known red light

Your bass in to high on the receiver or you need to upgrade your speaker wire to handle the power given to your speakers. Or you speakers can not handle the power of the amp. but 1st try adjusting your Bass Level down some to see if that works.

Hi changeman5 Have you tried to do a full reset on the unit. Disconnect from the wall for 24 hrs. Then try again. If the problem persists, it may have power supply issues, or a DC offset problem shutting it down. If you are game, I could talk you through some more diagnostics...
