Ilo MP3/WMA Player

I want to download audiobooks onto this player. I tried Audible.com but the Ilo is not compatible with their site. Does anyone know a site I can use with this player?

Convert any audiobook file to mp3 or wma format, and you should be good to go

Media Monkey is an example of a free service that will allow you to convert those files into the right format

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I am trying to download an audiobook file (WMA) from my library website to my Coby 601. The library uses a program called overdrive to download to handheld devices. It says my Coby does not recognize WMA...

The player does in fact play WMA files. However, if the audiobook is a protected audiobook that you purchased, the Coby device cannot play what is called DRM protected files. While Overdrive supports the playback of these files, the Coby player may not, or you no longer have authorization to play the file.

I have an AA file that I downloaded from audible.com, it's a book. When I try to sync it to the Sony Walkman from Windows Media Play, I get an error. The error says "Windows Media Player cannot sync...

The "AA" file type is not supported in the NWZ MP3 players. However, you are still able to place audiobooks onto your player if you convert the file to one of the supported file audio formats: MP3. WMA, AAC-LC, and PCM. Remember that there are several iterations of MP3, such as variable bit rate and frequency range and the player does not play some of them.

What I do is that I pull the file into Audacity and convert it there. Another option is that if you can burn the audiobook onto a CD, you can then rip to WMP and then sync it to your player. That is how I get my language audiobooks onto my player. The last option, which I have never tried, is to get it into ITunes, then sync it to your player that way. ITunes will automatically convert the file before syncing it onto the player.

Hope that helps.

I have downloaded an audiobook and transferred it onto my mp3 player, but the message "File format not supported" pops up and will not play the book

I had the same issue with my Audible.com downloads, since their audiobooks use the copyright-protected format *.AA. I had to go buy an mp3 player that supported that file extension.

You may be able to, if our player supports MTP mode. You will have to see if the mode can be changed from MSC mode to MPT. for a better explanation of these terms go to this tip posted here -- Solve your MP3 Player Connection Problem.

Audio book download

The RCA Opal supports Audible audiobook downloads almost exclusively. You can transfer audiobooks that are in mp3 or wma format, but they will not play like regular audiobooks - they will play as one continuous file. I would use Windows Media Player to transfer the audiobooks to the player, but you can drag and drop using Windows Explorer also.

Philips SA304X and audiobooks

It does not support Audible. I have funny insider information on this - Philips originally planned to make it Audible compatible, and even added an Audible folder. In the end, they didn't seal the deal and sent out players that were not compatible with audible, but have an Audible folder in them. LOL.

A workaround is to download audiobook files in mp3-only format. You won't be able to use them like an audiobook, but they will be available for lsiten.

Can't play downloaded audiobook

I'm having problems with audible books myself but I think I can help you with your problem. The audible website should have demanded that you download the audible manager. When you open this program (if you haven't already done so) you need to add your device from the menu on the left side of the screen. Follow the directions (I don't think I need to walk you through that) and once your device is now listed in that menu on the left side of the screen right click on it and select activate device. It will then prompt for your audible user name and password. Having done that your device should play the file if it is indeed audible compatible. if that doesn't work you're sol.

Problem playing a downloaded audio book

Perhaps your audio book was from audible.com. They use their own audible format ( .aa instead of .mp3) and only certain mp3 players can play .aa files. If the book is in .aa format, go to www.audible.com and check to see whether or not your player is compatible with .aa files. If not, you're outta luck. durok
