Clock display on KDC-MP235

I want to have a time setting on my KDC-MP-235 displayed. I purchased this unit from Best Buy last week and no-one is able to tell me how to get the clock display. Why should I have to pay for this information?

I've found the manual to be inaccurate as far as setting the clock. To display the clock, hold down the right knob, then choose Freq or Clock. Push again to set. Easy.

To set the clock, push the source button until you're in standby mode. Hold the left knob down (volume ctrl) until menu comes up. Either push the left knob OR move the right up or down (can't remember which) until you see Clk Adj. Push the vol ctrl knob (I think). Then, the knob on the right goes left right for minutes/hours, and up/down for the other. I believe you can push the vol knob then once its set.

Go to this link here(pdf manual on Kenwood's web site) and go to page 9. It gives instructions to do what you want. It looks like you have to adjust the display setting for every source separately, or just the sources you want the clock to come up in.

Not currently, but they are working on it. They still need to solve some firmware issues before it becomes Zune capable (because the iPod will work) - keep current on the Kenwood firmware updates on their site:

Kenwood in dash reciever will not read compact disks or USB

The problem is definetely a fault in the Mp of the set as it is not able to process the data from the flash memory or the CD. If will be good to open the set and do a through check for loose connections, faulty ground or joints inthe main PCB. Remove dust and fix back, Also clean your optical lens and drive unit. Fix them back and check again . If it works you are lucky or else the main processor is faulty. Hope you try this Good day

Kenwood KDC - MP 235

I would also check the speaker outputs from the deck. If any of the speaker outputs are touching any metal on the vehicle, it could give that message.

I just bought a KDC MP-235 to put in a 95 camaro with bose amplified speakers. I ordered a amplifier intergration component to reduce the output of the 50 watt per channel head unit as to have better...

Yes, the Kenwood KDC MP-235 has two (2) line level outputs (RCA types red & white). However, these outputs internally passed through an electronic crossover/filter making them appropriate for subwoofer amps only.

If your unit is an MP-235CR, then the same outputs would be for the rear amp (not subs) and are full range (unfiltered).

If indeed your unit is an MP-235 and if I may make a suggestion, still connect the Kenwood to four (4) speakers. It would not be technically correct to leave the internal amps operating with no load (speakers) connected. Additionally, you would be getting 200 watts (4 X 50) more to your system (since it is already there).

If your Bose amp & speaker are subs, then no issue, however if the Bose is for a full range of speakers, then only the woofer part would be working efficiently.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
