Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook
Ok i was running google earth and my system froze up. i rebooted and after logging into windows i got an message that a windows detected a registry change on start up scan and then nothing my colered desktop wa there but no shortcuts, taskbar nothing, mouse moved i was able to bring up task manager and then i just rebooted. computer then got past the hp screen but before windows boots i got the error. so first in went into bios and ran the hard drive test took about an hour. everything was fine.i tried to boot from the hp xphome cd that came with my dv1000 notebook but no luck. i cant do anthing but go into the bios. how do i go into safe mode? there is no option for me to do this on boot up. i only get these options ESC to change boot order, F10 to enter setup, and F12 to boot from LAN.
Shut your computer off and when you boot it back up tap f8. keep tapping it and it will take you into setup in there you can go to last good known setting, or try to start in safe mode with command prompt if you are familiar with that. command prompt is a powerful tool if you can use it. hope this helps hp does have a partition that has the recovery console already installed. if you are ready to lose data(if you have no backup} i believe if you restart your system as it starts booting up hit f10 key and that should take to the option of system restore. or system recovery. try system restore first and choose a date to restore from. then the later that will cause your computer to go back to factory settings.Hope this helps some.

Please note that your HDD is having your important data. If you are ready for loosing the data, or lready lost the data. Try for restoring from restore Disk. If same thing continues Please change Hard drive. Hope this will solve your problem.

When starting my HP Pavilion an Error message comes up saying. "A disk error has occured. Press ctr+Alt+Delete to restart" When I press Ctr+Alt+Delete the same message appears, What can I do to fix this problem?
