Vacuum won't turn on!!

The sweeper attachment will runs, but the motor/vacuum in the body
won't. I tried checking the fuse in the housing but it seems good.
It was working this week and now it's dead.

I am having the very same problem. Just started today.

Thank you for such a fast answer...
It sounds a little too scary for me to do myself.
I took the canister to Sears and tried using a floor model's
handle/hose. My vacuum still didn't turn on, so the problem is
definitely in the motor area not the handle.
I'll bite the bullet and let $ears fix it for me.

It could be the circuit board, or it could be the motor inside the canister. I have the same and the motor is making a humming noise like it's getting power but can't spin.

Some of these have a relay or circuit board down by the main motor that may have gone bad. Could have a problem with the circuit board in the hose handle, Could have a problem with the motor. Will jusy have to have opened up and checked. Go to Sears.com, click on parts, put in your complete model number, a parts list and picture will come up, maybe that will help you.

Keeps stopping even though I have taken it apart and checked for blockages. +

Are you sure your wall charger is working ok? You might just have a bad battery pack in the sweeper if your charger is working. Do you have a friend who knows electronics and has a voltmeter?

If so, have them check the voltage output of the charger at the plug that goes into the sweeper. Verify that the charger is indeed working ok. Then you will need to check the voltage on the battery pack inside the sweeper to see if your battery is good and holding a charge. A mechanical blockage could be something caught in the vacuum fan blade. You should be able to hold the main part of the sweeper up to your ear so you can hear and then pull the sweeper trigger and see if you can hear the motor try to start. Nothing happening may mean a dead battery pack. Regards, Dennis

Sweeper will not run it has power to sweeper attachment the beater bar spins not the moter of sweeper

The most common reasons for such action is that the motor has died, usually the armature is the big culprit here. I have no idea of how you care for your vacuum, of course, but it needs to have the water basin dumped and cleaned out after EVERY cleaning session. This vacuum base should never be put away with water of any sort left in it. Over time, water left in any type of container will evaporate. If it's in a closed container, which, in effect this base becomes when the unit is attached to the basin, the water vapor will condense on whatever surface area is available to it, (the underside of the motor itself), and eventually, it will find it's way up inside the motor. This can result in rust, and even water clinging to the parts of the motor when it's fired up to run.

The sweeper attachement went "dead." What could be

more than likely the overload or reset button has been tripped within the powerhead.

Press the red button or the square button on the left side top of the unit, more than likely it is the red one, and it should start up for you again.

Good luck,

How do you change the belt on a winsor sensor s12?

Step 1. Remove the vacuum bag housing so that you are only working with the power nozzle or the bottom portion of your Sebo, this will make it much easier to work with. Turn the vacuum upside down, and remove only the 5 screws that I have circled in red:

Step 2. After removing the screws on the bottom of the vacuum cleaner, separate the top housing from the lower agitator housing, sometimes it may take putting a flat head screw driver in between the white and grey colored housing and prying them apart.

Step 3. You now have full access to the belts on your machine. It's most likely the belt that wraps around the brush gear rather then the belt that's attached to the motor that's gone bad. I have never replaced the motor belt in 8 years of servicing Windsor vacuums.

If you have any further questions on how to replace the belt, please feel free to reply to this repair by leaving your question in the comment section, I'm always more then happy to answer any question you may have.

Thanks again,

Sweeper smells stinks whole house up when running

Several questions:
What does the smell seem to be? If rubber, check the belt and brushroll for free rotation. If a musty smell, check the bag, it may need replaced with a new paper bag. If it has an electrical smell, like hot insulation, then the motor needs checked.

The brush spins but the the dirt is not getting into the bag. i cleaned the hoses now it's not sucking anything up.

If the motor is running you should get some kind of sucktion, if no sucktion or wont blow any air out, check the house making sure is clear of any obtruction, the best way is looking in the house by have one person hold one end and other pull the house straight and look to see any obstruction. if it seem clear, check the motor attach to the fan, yep you have to take the cover to the motor off with phillips screw driver in order to see what causing motor not to **** although the motor may not be attached to the fan; could be loose and not spining the fan to create any sucktion. hope that help some..good luck

We replaced the motor on our electrolux epic 6500 but the temperture light comes on and machine willnot run.

Check for blockage in the hose or the sweeper. Check the filter located under the grill on the top back of the machine.

How to replace a fuse a Kirby Ultimate G Series

There is no fuse in the Kirby. There are few things that you want to check:
1. Cord - most likely cause. It may not be damaged but wires inside may have snapped if it got between doors.
2. Safety switch inside - no easy way to check. We usually just put a new one in and see if it solves the problem.
3. Motor - very unlikely that something is wrong with the motor - those are very hard to kill.
