Eric, your battery is probably falty, prompting the circuit to report fault, until power from the main substitutes the battery. I would get it tested and replaced.

When I turn my macbook pro laptop on all I see is an envelope with a question mark

The computer cant find a start up directory so your Harddrive may be corrupted or physically bad. But there are other causes so...
First thing to do is turn it off, remove any connected devices or cables, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Wait a minute or two then replace the power supply leaving the battery out and start the macbook while holding down the SHIFT key on the keyboard to start in Safe mode. If that works you're lucky and you can restart the computer normally (no shift key) replace the battery and any connected devices one at a time (with a shut down in between) to see if one of your devices was to blame. If that didnt work you will need to start the computer from your OSX start up DVD to repair your start up directory/harddrive if possible. See this link for more details. let me know if you need more help.

Dell inspiron 6000 dead when connect power adeptor to laptop the led light on psu goes off is this mother board fault or psu.

If the led on the power supply turns off after connecting it to your laptop, the problem most likely lies with the power supply especially if the machine will run on battery power. This can be tested by

1. Turn the laptop off.

2. Remove the battery and power supply plug.

3. Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to reset the laptop.

4. Replace the power supply plug into the laptop without replacing the battery.

5. If the computer will not start and there are no lights turning on on the laptop the power supply is bad.

6. Replace the battery and attempt to start the machine both with and without the power supply plugged in.

When I push the power button to power the lap top up the light display that says outlet power changes from green to amber and the laptop will not power up.

try removing the battery and just use plug power only if it boots normally then change the battery and the change the power supply unit as well I would just start with the power supply unit first then see if the battery charges up if not the battery is bad replace it. Now if the computer will not start with the battery removed then you have a power supply issue.
Change and replace it. Hope this helps. Also when computer lap top get hot they will shut down to protect the computer wait and let it cool down then try to restart your computer. If this does work and the lap top restarts normally get a fan cooler that is USB powered and the lap top sits on top of it. Also make sure the fan is running and is not stopped. Clean and dust it out once in awhile. I hope this assists you with your problem. John

Windows will not start. Computer restarts while loading

good day sir/maam, there are several reasons why the windows restart.
  1. Power supply or charger problem. To solve this you may need to find another charger to use on your laptop.
  2. Battery problem. try a new battery.
  3. systemboard problem. sad to say this but you may need to bring it to your vendor for service
  4. poor Windows installation. you need to reinstall windows
  5. Memory. replace the memory module.
The most common culprit is number 1 and 2. if not try the rest. may this guide you.

If the Computer In question is a PC Desktop computer a few issues. First power supply may be malfunctioning. Second check the the CPU fan inside computer is running and not full of dust when you turn it on. If it's dusty, get vacuum cleaner and clean it. Fans need to be able to work without overheating because CPU runs hot.
