Connected but cant use internet explorer

here is my advice : Just go to www.microsoft.com and download internet explorer again and install it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solve the problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communication softwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also . I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . I already have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have ( Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the idea and you'll be satisfied with the result .
good luck .

rate if useful please !

Just purchased laptop with windows vista home premium

If your PC has a wireless card, you can setup an AD-HOC network :

If your PC is XP: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/adhoc.mspx

If your PC is Vista: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/help/293c504f-b944-4d5d-835c-f080129bd5dc1033.mspx

If your PC only has a wired Ethernet connection, you may still connect the two using a Wireless Access Point/Router.

Once you have the two computers connected, you may do whatever networked operations you would like:

File & Printer Sharing is the most common:

XP: http://www.wellesley.edu/Computing/FileSharing/Windows/win2kxp.html
Vista: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/File-Print-Sharing-Windows-Vista.html

HP Color LaserJet 3550N wireless connection

Use the software that came with your printer. There is some sort of HP Admin that runs in your web browser that you can communicated with the Wireless Printer. The USB cable is use to install the drivers and software you want to use with it. Also backup in case of the wireless has issues you can still use the printer. If you're using a wireless router make sure it can see the wireless printer. But again you need to know what's the default Web Admin address and you say you know it.

So 1. open your web browser and type: http://192.168.1.2 in this example is what you would do. Your IP address will vary.

The manual or quick guide that comes with the printer should tell you want to do next.

Does it have wireless adapter card installed or just HP Jet direct card for 10/100? You might not have the wireless option installed as default. Check the connections to see what you have?

Patch

32bit or 64bit edition of Vista?

If it's 64bit, from what I understand, your out of luck.

If it's 32bit, then using the latest communications manager should help. Says it supports Vista and your card.

Do not use communications manager 6.6 as your card isnt supported in that version. Use the 6.3 version located here - http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/en_US/download/Setup-ACM-6.3.exe

Hope this helps.
