Question about Hitachi 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
I just changed out the bulb on the TV because it had went bad. I plugged the TV back in and turned on and it came on for just a few seconds and then turned off by itself. The lamp indicator is not indicating wrong lamp. Only the power light blinks to show it is cooling down.
The reason for your tv acting this way is because you have probably purchased a third party lamp. Always buy the recommended Original Lamp most likely made by Phillips. Good luck...

I have a problem with my Hitachi 60VS810 when turning on goes into a blinking cool down mode then the TV goes fine for about a 1-3 minutes and goes into a cool down mode again, this may happen 1-3 times in a half hour and sometimes it locks up and you cannot change channels. Had the Lamp replaced by a professional and still the same problem exists. HELP!!

The high voltage supply for the lamp may have blown.
cheap bulbs don't always have the correct rating.
