Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

Sandisk cruiser micro 4gb flashdrive repair

Your product selection does not include the 4GB model so I have put it under the 2GB.

I purchased one of the new sandisk 4GB drives back in November of last year, it's been great and I love it. Thursday night however, I fell on it (I keep it on my key chain) Thursday when I went to use it, nothing happened, no lights or anything, it just got a little warm after being plugged in for a couple mins.

I work at a cell phone repair center, so I thought I would just check for a broken solder joint on the usb connector or something. To my horror I found that a large BGA chip was cracked. It's not the flash chip, I believe it contains driver and firmware information.

So, my question is, will sandisk or some other repair center replace this part? I haven't e-mailed sandisk about it yet.

If no one will repair it or sell me the BGA, I think the easiest thing would be to buy another, and swap the 4GB flash chip ask it would be pretty easy to do where I work with a hot air station and good soldering iron.

any advice?

Your best bet is to contact the vendor you purchased it from first, and many are good about replacements in the first 12 months. If that doesn't pan out, contact SanDisk directly at 1-866-726-3475 .

Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you need to format the flash drive, but you willlose the data stored on the flash drive.

Sandisk Micro 4GB Cruzer usb flash drive has malfunctioned and all the computers that I've used it on will not recognize it. Help now!

you can try run check hard drive changes,
and let the O/S pick it up, if not pick from the list of hardware devices, choose
usb mass storage, click on it and look for the maker name, pick your model.

if this those not work, run the driver from the cd that came with the USB device.

if not you will have to go for a update from O/S provider.

How to install the program in my flashdrive the original from u3

http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp

Under product type, select "USB Flash Drive", operating system doesnt matter, and click Find Driver, on the next page, select U3 Software Installer, second from bottom. You will have to do a free registration I think, but its nothing major.

Good Luck!

U3 2GB Cruzer Micro wont work on my vista laptop.

Hi there, I found the solution (for all 4GB flash drives).

Initially when I plugged in my PQi 4GB flash drive with Windows Vista,
there was an error message involving " Can not find the drivers needed ... "

Simply download & install "Windows Vista Service Pack 1"
it is about 444 MB in size.
The whole process might take about 2 hours to install,
but it is worth it.
These are the links where you can find your download:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsvista/bb738089.aspx
OR

It works perfectly... good luck now...
