I was cooking at 500 degrees. The oven door locked, even though "locked" did not appear on the display. After turning the oven off, the door remains locked. I pressed "Off" for 5 seconds, and "E0 F0" code appeared. I pressed "Off" once again and thje display cleared and clock time displayed as usual. No error codes are showing. Kenmore Electric Range Model 95829 from 2001. How can I get the door opened?

I have a 1998 Kitchenaid oven that also has a locked door due to canceling the self cleaning process. I have called Kitchenaid and they said to disconnect power or hold the Bake button for 70 seconds, neither worked. However an error code of F5E7 appeared but cleared after I hit the Cancel/Off button. I also called a local appliance repair shop and they said it is probably a bad solenoid. Any other ideas? I believe the last time this happened I took the door off and manually moved the lock but am not sure as it has been a few years.

I had a similar problem with my Kenmore built-in oven. I accidentally pushed the clean button and immediately opened the door. The clean cycle stopped but the door would not close because the latch was in the locked position. Nothing worked until I tried your solution of pushing and holding the cancel button for three seconds. The latch started to turn and finally it was in the unlocked position and I was able to close the door. THANK YOU.

I have a Kitchenaide Oven and same door lock issue occurred complete with the E5:C7 error after accidently hitting clean and then cancel. Unplugging it didn't help but we ran the self clean for 15 minutes, then held down the cancel/off for 10 seconds until a "too hot" message appeared. 5 minutes later we heard a loud click and the oven lock had released.

I have a GE Profile Electric Oven. I set it on automatic self clean. It went through the cleaning process (4 hours) but when that ended, the door would not unlock. I have tried starting the cleaning process again and then cancelling it. It did not unlock. I held down the clear/off button for several seconds and it still won't unlock.

We had a storm last night which knocked out the power. The Kitchen Aid slide in range was off. When power turned back on, the range showed "err - oven door locked", I shut off power to the range and rebooted to no avail. I also tried to use self clean, shutting off after a few minutes but same problem.

Worked like a charm.. I have a wall-mounted frigidaire, door locked after self-cleaning cycle. I just started a cleaning cycle, then a minute later pressed cancel and held it down.. and 10 seconds later, presto, door unlocked. :) Thanks!
