This is the 2nd most common problem
with PS3's. This isn't a bad problem. Your laser/lens will need to be
replaced. Do you see the time clock in the top right corner going
around and around? If so, you are just having laser/lens problems. If you would like to perform this task yourself, you can access youtube and search for 'ps3 laser disassembly.' I personally wouldn't recommend it. Find yourself a good reputable ps3 technician and pay them the money rather than SONY.
If
you do not see the time icon spinning when you insert a disc, your
PS3's Blu Ray drive controller board has gone bad and you will need
to send it to Sony and not a
3rd party technician. Certain problems are only repairable by Sony. Good luck.
