    .
Sorry but I need the full model number. It will be three digits, a dot, then about 9 more numbers.

Yours would be something like: ###.69682###

You can find it on a tag usually around the door frame or inside.

In most cases, it's a problem on the control circuit board, but some brands use F6 to mean something else, such as a failed sensor.

If you could post your brand and model, we could double check the codes.

If you might need your control panel assembly repaired, we do that for customers nationwide for $39.95 in most cases.

We have full details, plus *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site. You'll find a link to our site in our
    listing here on FixYa:http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Again, with the model number we can check further.

F6 is a communication error. It is either a loose connection to the control board, or the control board is shot. They should have diagnosed this when they came out to fix it. Open it up, and look for loose connections.
good luck

ERROR CODE F6 SOUNDS LIKE IT RUNNING. UNPLUGGED IT AND PLUGGED IT IN AND WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR SAME OLE

Hello lyle,

The reason your microwave comes up with the error code f6 is simply because there is a shortened key, also know as a bad relay. I bet you have a kenmore microwave oven there.

It will act like it is about to start working, sometimes, the tray would roll inside the oven, but will not work.

You need to check wiring to relay 4903 for short circuit, then correct the short circuits you seen.

Hope this helped you.
All the best.

I have have a 10 year old Kenmore Hood/Microwave combo built by Whirpool. I'm getting an F6 error code. What is the error code trying to tell me?

F6 —Microwave Relay Failure: Check the microwave relay.

The F6 error code which is flashing on your microwave refers to a faulty relay. However, I would suggest that you first try to run a diagnostic (which you may not be able to, but it is beneficial if it works). Here is how:

The microwave oven may be provided with a self diagnostic routine that can be operated through the touch pad keyboard. To enter the self-diagnostic routine:
1.While pressing the CANCEL keypad:
a) Open the oven door.
b) Unplug the microwave oven for 2-seconds and plug it back in.
c) Release the CANCEL keypad and close the oven door.

NOTE: The humidity sensor test results will appear on the display after 8-seconds.If the tests are successful, "OK " will be displayed. If one or more of the tests fail, "ERR " will be displayed.. 2.When a keypad is pressed, a number according to the test chart will be displayed. When no keypad is pressed, a blank "—" is displayed.
If you want to try to fix it your self, Always remember Electricity is dangerous and should be treated with respect.
Microwaves are very dangerous, they can still shock you even unplugged!!
Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it. With the microwave unplugged.

Hope that helps.........

Panel displays F6; continues to hum. Will not re-set after unplugging..display continues to show F6.

F6 is a shorted cook relay on the control board.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

Displays F6 error code, hums when you start it and the tray circulates when you open the door

Depending upon which make and model you have, F6 is the code for either relay failure or shorted tempurature probe.

I replaced the light bulb, now it displays -F6- and pushing any button causes a humming noise.

I left the unit unplugged over night, plugged it back in the next day and still had the same problem.

What does -F6- code stand for?

F6 means a problem in the control circuit board.
Try unplugging the microwave with the door open, then plug it back.
Try the solution that you find here, if it does not work the panel must be replaced.

Kenmore Microwave hood combo Model # 66569689992 F6 error code?

i fixed by unplugging the microwave with the door open. I plugged it back in and the F6 was gone. I was then able to set the clock and turn the light on/off . When I closed the microwave door, the F6 came back on and the microwave was making a humming noise. I slapped the side of the microwave near the keypad, and the F6 cleared from the readout and the humming stopped. The microwave is working fine now. Don't know why, except maybe slap on the side reset a relay or something. Anyway, I will never by a Sears Kenmore appliance for the rest of my life. The door rattles when you open a close it (like a part inside the door is broken) and this is the second time a fault code has appeared during use. I had GE Profile appliances at my last house, which are more $$ initial cost, but who wants to screw around buying a new microwave every four or five years. I'll happily spend a couple hundred more for the peace of mind and knowing that it will work during Thanksgiving dinner with the family over.

Error code F6

Please post back with your your full model number. It will be three digits, then a dot, then about eight more digits.

Once we have that, we can figure out who made it for Kenmore, then look up the F6 code.

Happy to help.
