Philips DVDR3570H for multiregional playing

Hi,
I recently bought the DVDR3570H from Singapore. I live in UK and after some unrelated issues just set it up again and now cannot play DVDs for my region. Can you tell me how to re-set it as it did play them before?
Thanks,
Dominic

Hey.. just want to say thanks to Sajeev.. worked a treat on mine.. upgraded the software to 3.06 and of course it reset regions.. it definitely works.. I just did it, but you MUST follow the routine. Turn on using front panel.. wait for it to boot up to LIVE TV.. then push HOME, then press Play/Pause, then enter the numbers in quick succession.. if you have done everything right it will show no "x" on top right of display.. press Play/Pause again, then switch off.. PERFECT! I have my region free player back.. sorted! Rob McL in New Zealand

I have just tried this out & at the thrid attempt it works, HOWEVER you HAVE to put the code in immediately you press play/pause and don't waste time doing it. You have about 3 seconds to get the code in before 'BROWSER' appears and it wont take the code. If you are to slow, just start again until you get all the number in. I have firmware V3.06

Convert US DVD in Region 1 to play in UK Region 2

Hello,
Please go to codemasters.com , type in the details of your dvd player, there will be several region code hacks ,follow the instructions and this should work for you, basically you are needing to make your dvd player a multiregion player. all dvd players are multi region at time of manufacture, but they are code set for the county that they are shipped to, hopefully this should help. you can also go on to google type in Hack for whaterver your dvd player is and you will get a region code there.

best Wishes

DVDR3570h is stuck in standby, cannot turn on

I had this problem, it was solved by reformatting the hard-drive.

NOTE: if you do this, all settings and all that is saved on the harddrive is lost. But seeing that you can't start it anyway, that is acceptable, right? :)

Anyway, here's how you do it, according to Philips support:

  1. Pull out the power cord from the socket.
  2. Press and hold PREV and STOP (i.e. left and down) on the front panel.
  3. Plug the power cord into the socket again.
  4. Wait until the front panel says "FMT KEY" to let go of the buttons. Wait for it to finish formatting, upon which you will get "-- --" on the panel.
Restart the box and you should now end up at a screen asking you to set the language for the box, as if being started for the first time ever.

Also of note: if you want to restore the firmware to factory settings, Philips support told me to pull the cord, press and hold the STANDBY button, and plug it back in again. For the looping problem though, I didn't need that.

Multi region code for philips hts 3090 dvd player

With your set on and without disc in the tray:

1. Press PLAY from your remote control
2. Press the following button sequence: 1590 2379 390
3. Press PLAY again

This will release the region verification in your home theater (region free). However, some DVDs (multiregion in particular) will not play, since they require region detection from the player unit.

I've done this to my 3090 and been using it like this for 3 years.

What region are the Tevion portable dvd players?

It depends where you buy the player from. For example if you buy the player from the UK then it'll most probally be region 2 but if you bought one from america then it'll most probaly be region 1. For some players there multiregion hacks that mean the player will play any region.

Heres a link to available Tevion hacks just in case you might want a multiregion player.
