Hi hytr

You have only one option to repair the files which have been infected by the virus but that too is not possible in all the cases.
The repairing job can be done by a good anti virus.
If you want to remove the virus you will have to delete all the infected files.which will be present in the quarantine folder of the antivirus.
Although the best way is to reformat the disk

Waiting for your thanx

Hotmail has been compromised

Open that strange attachment in your Hotmail email and your computer may be infected with a virus, a nasty piece of software that may corrupt your computer data, delete files or send your personal information to a hacker. Employ a combination of proactive protection measures and post-virus removal techniques to guard your computer against any viruses hiding in your Hotmail Inbox.

Avoid opening emails from suspicious sources or with unrecognizable text in the "From" or "Subject" headings. And never open attachments that you are not expecting, even if they appear to be from a friend, without first confirming it with the sender to ensure that it is a legitimate attachment. Check the top of the Hotmail page when opening an attachment. MSN Hotmail employs a free virus scanner that scans all attachments when you try to open them. If you try to open an attachment with a Hotmail virus, the website will alert you to the danger. Press "Delete" immediately. Click "Deleted" in the left column of Hotmail after deleting a virus-ridden email. A page showing your deleted emails will appear. Push the "Empty" button at the top of the page to permanently remove all of your deleted emails to prevent accidentally moving the virus back into your Inbox. Run a virus scan on your computer system if you open a strange attachment and suspect that a virus got through the Hotmail scanner. The scanner will identify and remove the virus if it has infected your machine. Virus scanning software is available at a cost from Norton and McAfee, while free alternatives can be downloaded from Avast and AVG. Consult your user manual for scanning procedures, as these vary widely by program. Rather than paying for an antivirus

What's a cheep way to handle an all out virus attack without the computer repair shop, in home repair or can buy for forty dollars or less Need help fast, and will have to reboot virus will be shutting...

Hi stage45,

I see that you need an anivirus program that can help you without having to delete windows and start all over again.

I see you have XP and that the Virus shuts you down every 20 mins,

try process explorer this should help you terminate the virus temoporarily, after termination, download malwarebytes since you have XP this should run smoothly on your machine, this will help you detect and delete what ever virus spyware your machine may have.

I hope that his helps.

Have a nice day,

Virus

Your question is a little difficult to understand. I assume you either have a virus you need to remove or you want to prevent one from ever getting onto your computer.
I recommend using ESET NOD32 Antivirus. I've found it to work beautifully at protecting a computer without slowing anything down. You can try out a 30-day trial from here:

Why do i keep getting DEP error message each time i close IE8 or a tab?

windows xp has DEP ( data execution prevention ) some viruses etc use that sort of technique and from SP2 onwards I believe it was they included it.

http://www.zensoftware.co.uk/kb/article.aspx?id=10002

Several OSs have no-execute or execute protection. Microsoft has added this as well in SP2 with data execution prevention (DEP). This precents code execution in memory regions already marked as storage. This is a powerful tool against buffer overrun exploits. If a program is failing and you want to disable DEP to see if that is the cause. Here are the steps. (Just disable DEP for the program in question… don’t disable it for your whole system.)
    1. Click Start
    2. Select Control Panel
    3. Select System
    4. Click the Advanced tab
    5. In the Performance region select Settings
    6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens
    7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select
    8. Click Add.
    9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select your application.
    10. Click Open
    11. Click Apply
    12. Click Ok
    13. Reboot

How to remove virus completely without formatting my Pc.

Remove the hard drive and put it in a working system to scan it.

Get a thumb drive, install an operating system & anti virus on that, boot and scan using thumb drive.

Go to Trend Micro and use their free online tools to scan.

I provided three ways to do it, there are others. Thank you for using FixYa.

there are 2 posibilities:
1. It's probably that your computer has been infected by a virus, try to format your flash drive on another computer.
2. The file probably a software to autorun portable apps on your flash drive, such as U3. It's not a problem

Hope that helps :)

Error 1720

it sounds that your were infected by virus, u cannot install that unless remove any variant on it.

The risk solution; is to remove your hard drive and connect to the other computer that has a potent antivirus.
after removing virus you take back your HDD then fixed back to original.

If this will not help, Your system was destruct by a virus so better backup your files and format and install fresh windows this fixed all errors.

If you don't want to scan the system maybe you should directly reformat it and reinstall windows.

Any problem arising thereto you can notify me for further instruction.
