I have a pull start swisher trailmower. The cord is really hard to pull. what can be causing this?
The cord could be tanlged up, pull it all the way out and make sure it is round the "bobbin" and not slipped off the side on the shaft.
you wight be able to slip it back onto the bobbin with a screwdriver or piece of hooked wire -
Also you are using the proper mix of 2 stroke and fuel?, 50:1 fuel to oil, or more for older.worn engines, say 40:1 for old engines, they run better like that - smell nice too.
apart from that... oil the puller mechanism, normal engine oil will do the trick - it can only help.
