I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that my freezer is 'frost free'. I took everything apart , waiting for the ice to melt . Just hope I can get it back together. Thanks, I appreciate your assistance, Barb

Hi bb
The warming of the fridge is not to worry thing and about the freezer you should do some defrosting work time and again .
this would help in defreezing a bit .

and if you want it to get less warm turn it off for a little time.

Freezer wont freeze ice cubes

Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

I interpret that you are having trouble with the freezer of your Frigidaire refrigerator not freezing ice cubes. It appears that your refrigerator is not properly cooling. Make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly. Please allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your freezer status has changed successfully. Thank you!

Ffbm 920w won't cool

It appears that your auto defrosting system (if you have one) is not working. So your evaporator coil is frozen up - all that ice serves as an insulator and not enough cold air is getting down into frig section. Until you replace either the freezer defrost element or the defrost timer all you need to do is unplug for a few hours till it fully defrosts then plug back in - will work fine for a few days at normal internal temps till the ice builds up again.

If your timer and defrost element are both working properly, THEN, you might want to check if you have enough refrigerant in the system - you may have a leak.

Icing on door gap

Hello Sonny;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

I work on household refrigerators and freezers. Your situation is no different.

Freezer doors will ice up if there is a gap. The warm surrounding air will cause condensate and icing at any air gap; "hot goes to cold like a magnet".

You freezer door gasket needs to be reconditioned or replaced. You door may be misaligned and needs to be realigned. Your door frame may not be flat and needs to be flexed. Call me.

Why is my freezer working but not my frig in frigidaire upright with seperate doors

Check the rear is clean and clear. The condenser should be warm, not hot. If it cools down towards the end of the rungs and the last bit is cold. suspect short of gas.
Further check any fans etc and remove any excess ice, and make sure the door seals ok.

Fridge/freezer. Freezer works great but fridge is

Air from the freezer is blown into the fridge by a fan, some new type frigs have electronic controls that open and close a vent to frig. the older ones have two vents in the frig from the freezer and when covered with frost or ice the air will not reach the frig. check for ice or just defrost the freezer if there is ice or frost, also check for food or plastic over vents in freezer. Also check that the freezer fan is running as these sometimes become blocked or defective motor.

My refrigerator will not cool. Freezer is iced up.

Normal 0 I too had an aging frig with a similar problem. It's probably either your defrost timer or the defrost heating element. If you're handy, you can troubleshoot the problem yourself by following the suggestions found here. It's not a complicated fix, but if you are uncomfortable taking your refrigerator apart, then contacting a qualified repair person may be your best bet. Hope this information helps!

Frig no longer cold

Hi, look inside freezer and see if there is a frost build up on the rear wall. Also listen to see if the evapotator fan motor is running.
Please let me know so I can assist you further.
