    what is clutch spring?

  • Anonymous Jun 15, 2011

    Go tohttp://www.thesupplynet.com/ScanSnap-S51...
There is a picture of the clutch spring. It is part# PA03360-Y106

    I think it's a good idea to also get a new Gear part# PA03360-Y104
I kept having to replace my clutch springs, then I replaced the Gear and have not had a problem since.

  • Anonymous Jun 15, 2011

Maybe also should get "Pick Gear" PA03586-Y061, as well as "Gear" PA03360-Y104, as I'm not sure I remember which one I replaced, so to be safe replace both.

I have the same issue. I replaced the clutch spring - still have the issue.
I purchased both of the gears but neither are the one on the shaft next to the clutch spring. All the gears I can see have all of their teeth.

Paper is not being fed from paper holding drawer. sometimes makes clicking sound. Copier does work when single piece of paper is fed through right hand side of machine

It sounds like the feed tire is dirty, OR the feed clutch has sprung. Remove the paper tray On the right side of the copier where you feed the single sheet, you pull down the door. This exposes a fat gray or black feed roller. Take a clean dry towel and dampen it with wd 40. Gently wipe the roller with the cloth turning the roller toward the paper exit direction. Let the WD 40 soak in for ten minutes, replace the paper tray and try to make a copy. If it does, you need a feed roller which will rquire a service cal/take it in. If still no feed the 'clicking' may be a sprung clutch, service call required.

If this helps, please let me know with a vote, thanx

Our Brother MFC-8860DN will only feed paper from

Printers have rollers that grab and feed the paper. They can get dirty over a period of time, or lose some of their "stickiness". Sometimes they're easily accessible, sometimes not, depending on the printer. They can be cleaned with alcohol and q-tip or cloth. The weight of the paper is probably causing just enough resistance to make the printer think there's a jam, but there could also be a problem with the mechanics of the sensor assembly, or a fragment of paper jammed up somewhere. Sometimes you can get it working without taking the machine apart, and sometimes you can't. Make sure you don't void any warranties, of course, but with some investigation, you might get lucky. You've probably done most of what I suggested, but you might take one more look. Good luck!

Canon MX310 keeps not printing and message comes up paper jam sometimes nothing happens sometimes startes to take paper then stops sometimes just feeds through without printing , there seems to be no real...

Have you ever tried printing sticky labels in the thing? You have to be careful with those because sometimes a piece will come off and stick in the corner of your printer. If you don't have long surgical tweezers to pull it out, you could be looking at an expensive repair. Also check your manual. There are two places the paper can jam in. You might have checked only one. I have a different Canon model but on mine I also have to make sure the correct light is on. Is the light for feeding from the back on, or the light from feeding on the front? If you have the same light, press it again to change the place where it will feed from.

Make sure your paper isn't curled or that you're using paper that's too thick also.

Can't answer more because I don't know what program you are using to try to print.

5300 won't load 8 1/2x 11 photo-weight paper.

''grabber'' roller out of work sometimes, you may try
1) there is a input paper sensor around roller, the roller out of runing if the sensor is not senitive enough or sensor switch dirty,
clean the sensor as you can find it,
2) Lighter-weight paper feeds and prints fine, which means this paper input sensor works ok, but you need to make sure they are same paper input sensor,.
3) the paper surface bright and the roller worn could be cause paper feed fail, you need clean the roller anyway. still not fixed, you need to adjust the roller pressure by increase the spring force.`
