    Hi Master-Tech,

I am basic in my mechanical ability.

If its a matter of removing the screws in the back and finding the penny, it should not be an issue. If it requires adjusting belts and electronics and all, it will be more difficult.

    Let me know.

Ok here is the best way to describe it you will need to get around the back there are two torks screws remove them and slide the top panel back to you ..OH I FORGOT unplug the machine first !!!....Ok now with the top off you will see the drum.. slowly hand rotate it until you see some screws that are lined up with the baffles inside the drum You will need to remove just a few screws on one side (the baffle that has the coins) dont take them all out or the baffle will fall inside the drum and it will be a pain to get back on9u will need 2 people) and that should do it you will need to rotate the drum around until the correct baffle ..the one with the coins in on top at the 12 o'clock position.. let me know if this works our for you

My Maytag dryer is making a terrible noise and I was wondering what could be causing it, I bought it in 2013 so I know use can be a cause and age.

It could be a lot of things. None of which are really expensive:
1. Drum has a coin or something stuck between it and the wall.
2. Drum guides are worn out.
3. Bearing on the drum is bad..
4. Item like a coin is stuck in fan area.
It would be nice to know the make and model number and I can tell you what parts would cost. Of course labor is unknown if you are not going to do it yourself.

Cl300 dryer has stopped going around and is making a deeeeeeeer sound , any ideas

Could something stuck between the drum and the wall inside. turn it by hand and see if it moves. IF it does then there is a belt that wraps all the way around the drum and it might be loose or off track. IF it does not turn then look for coins etc that are stuck.

My Kenmore Steam dryer 796.8044 model drum won't turn

There are some things that you need to check. First see if you can turn it with your hand and note if it is easier or harder. Then you have an idea if it is something stuck or something failed. To see if it is the belt, you need to pull the top of the machine off and then you can see the outside of the drum. The belt may be off the motor, the tensioner or it may be broken. If the symptoms suggest it is something stuck, a coin or something hard like that is between the wall and the drum. IT could also be a bearing. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG IT IF YOU TAKE THE TOP OFF. Here are all the diagrams:

Drop my marriage ring in to Frigidaire GLGT1031CS

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Tilt the unit up to where the front feet are in the air and the back feet are still on the ground. Please make sure the unit is propped up safely.

3. Now that the unit is propped up look inside on the bottom right hand side there is a black looking accordion thing. This is the coin trap.

4. Clean the drum out with as much water as possible and have towels ready. The next step you will have the remaining water come out.

5. At the top of the coin trap where it is attached to the drum is a silver spring with a silver screw. Loosen the screw and wiggle the coin trap down from the drum.

5. Reach inside the coin trap and clean what is inside of it out.

6. Put the unit back together following the same steps backwards

Dryer turns on but does not start when i push the start button. The timer comes on all the buttons light up, light is on inside dryer, but does not start just makes a sound when i hit the start button

if it's a humming sound the motor is bad or something is jammed keeping the motor from the dryer door and move the drum by hand if the drum can't be moved the belt could be jammed on something or there's something stuck in the blower wheel.the blower wheel is behind the duct that the lint filter slides into.if you can move the drum then you most likely have a bad motor, try spinning the drum and push the door switch in and have someone else push the push to start button and see if the dryer will start,if the motor has a flat spot it could start like this.let me know what you find

I have Whirlpool Duet Dryer that has a noise.

It is common for small items (such as coins) to get stuck inside the dryer drum baffles. You can easily remove them without disassembling the entire dryer. The screws that hold them in place are located on the outside of the dryer drum. In order to access, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the dryer.
2. Remove the top panel of the dryer by removing the three screws located in the back of the dryer holding the panel in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel slides back, then lifts off.

Each drum baffle has two screws holding it in place. Remove the screws and the baffle will drop into the drum allowing you to easily check inside each one.

Another source of dryer noise is something caught in the blower fan housing. You will need to remove the lower toe panel directly below the dryer door to access. Follow these steps:

1. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen (the blower fan cover will not come off with the lint screen in place).
2. Locate the screws that hold the toe panel in place along the bottom front edge of the panel. HINT: Propping the front feet of the dryer up can give you better access to reach the screws (a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed the toe panel will drop down, then come off.
3. Remove the screws that hold the blower fan cover in place.

Inspect the blower fan housing for any objects that may be vibrating against the fan blades.

If you still need further assistance, please let me know. I hope you find this helpful.
