Question about Kodak EasyShare Z710 Digital Camera

2 Answers

I was transfering pictures from my FILEMATE 2GB SD CARD to the Kodak Easyshare software on my Dell desktop. My pictures and videos were all protected on the memory card. But somehow i think that when i transfered my pictures to my computer that i deleted them from the camera. I seen transfer and sync when they was being added. I did not try to do that. I wanted the pics to stay on my camera. They were protected. But when i try to view the pictures on the Sd card it it shows: Memory card requires formatting. I dont want to that. I will lose all my pictures and videos. Please instruct me how to transfer them back from the computer onto the memory card without formatting. I have a memory card reader. But when i try to copy the pics back to the sd card, it still prompts me that the card need to be formatted. I WILL NOT DO THAT! Any solutions, please assist. Thanks. Ms Tanya 2/16/08 12:52AM CST.

Hi, we have an EasyShare Z710, it has a new battery but won't do anything when switched on. This is the second one we have had, the other one wouldn't flip up the flash and then wouldn't perform at all. We dock it on the printer all the time and until now it has been fine. We have tried uploading pics we took a week ago but it says "no support device connected". Help someone please.

Hi Tanya

It sounds like something was corrupted when you transferred your pictures to the computer.

If you have all the pictures safely on your computer, it will be ok to reformat the memory card and then just copy and paste the pictures back to the card.

Insert the card in your card reader, go to My Computer, you should be able to see the card as a removable drive. You can click and open it just like a folder and see what is on the card.

I would also back up the pictures to an external drive or dvd so they are extra safe!

Kodak z710 I cannot transfer photos onto my computer.

It may be time to buy a card reader for your computer. You can get one at a department or electronics store for not much more than a cup of coffee.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( ).

How many gs memory card

Kodak, like most digital camera manufacturers, does not publish the maximum memory card capacity that their cameras will support, but the largest listed in your manual is 1GB. It might support a 2GB SD card, but trying it would be a gamble.

I cannot use a 4 gb sdhc card in kodak z710. Why? I can solve somehow?

The Z710 is designed to work with MMC and SD cards. It will not work with SDHC cards.

Even though an SDHC card will fit into an SD slot, there are electronic incompatibilities that prevent it from working. This is a hardware issue, and cannot be fixed in firmware.

You will have to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Hello. You need to buy a SD card to store your pictures on.This card slides into a slot on the side of the camera. You may have a 2GB limit check with Kodak or your manual before you buy anything larger. The 2GB card will store several hundred pics at 7 megapixil size.
