You can change colour option is scanner software from where you scanned.
For that before scanning open that software then go to it's settings and change scan option to color if you want color.

Hi, As I'm sure you have already heard, Vista has been replaced by Windows 7 due to many software incompatability issues. My best advice would be to get rid of Vista and either downgrade to Windows Xp or upgrade to Windows 7 as these two are far more stable and compatible with most software applications. That means, your scanner lens are not reflecting images properly so you need to clean ADF kits and Glasses of Lens. i highly recommend not to mess up with your scanner if you are not aware of those all parts and if you are just open up scanner glass cover and clean those all ADF kits otherwise better getting help of a printer Tech.
