Question about Sony Cybershot S650 Digital Camera

Cannot send pictures through email

I have no problem putting pictures onto my computer but cannot find any way to reduce the pictures small enough to send via email or upload them on to sites. There seems no tool in the motion picture browser for compressing the file size either.

How do you make the photos small enough to email? When I try to email photos downloaded on my computer they get returned because they are too big to send.

There are many solutions to this, the one I like is to use XN View which is a free software. If you browse your photos with this program, you can right-click on one and choose "Send by Email..." and you get the option to reduce the size to something suitable for mail.

I have a lumix 8x camera which I have just received as a present. I have taken somes pictures and now want to email them to my friends how do I do this? Angela

You will have to get your pictures onto your computer. The easiest way is to take the memory card out of the camera and put it into a card reader on the computer. It will then show as a disk drive and you simply drag the picture files to your desktop.

If you got a USB lead with your camera, you can do almost the same thing by connecting the camera to your computer with the USB lead. You shouldn't have to load any software with the latest cameras and computers- the computer ought to see the camera as a disk drive as above.

The you have to attach the pics to your emails and send them, but watch out- the pics are likely to be very large files. You might want to resize them in an image editing program before sending them over the internet. Your friends might not like getting a 5 megabyte email.

You will be guided by the instruction above. Let me know if this works. Usually you should set that to S2:1M.

Is there a way to send pictures directly from the camera?

You cannot send pictures directly from the camera. The pictures have to be uploaded to your computer first. Your camera doesnt have a "built in" internet connection. The easy share button is for send pictures to your friends AFTER they are loaded onto your computer.

Send pictures through email

download the pictures onto your computer then attach them to the email, some digital images are too big to send through to some email accounts so i suggest you either resize them before sending them or zip them.

I hope this helps

My pictures come out too small when downloaded!!

Instead of going to print size, you need to head to the quality tab of your camera. Here you will find the option for 640 x 480. This size is only good though for email quality. If you want a higher quality for printing images, you need to move that resolution up.

TIP: I myself have a casio camera and i take all my pictures at the highest availible quality. You can always reduce the file size on your computer, but you can never add quality. While it may take more space on my card, it is like the old saying about dressing warmly... you can always peel layers off....

E mailed pictures arrive too large

reduce resolution on camera itself or choose a smaller resolution when sending pics via Email. Not all Email programs support this. You can also resize your pics before sending by using "XP powertoys" free from microsoft and includes a resizing tool. 640X480 is plenty big for Email.

Simple solution - take all the furniture pictures over. Took a picture, transferred it to the computer - went to eBay and was able to upload it onto the listing. Must have been a computer - software - glitch?? This never happened before and hopefully, it won't happen again.
