Restoring video through Skype No Video in Skype After Updating to Version 6.5 or 6.6 A newer version of Skype was released and should resolve this issue. Please visit the link below to download the most updated version of Skype for your operating system:
Check in your Device Manager from the Control Panel. Look for the WebCam under Imaging Devices. Delete it and allow the system to reinstall it by using Scan For New Hardware. If it's detected, open a browser and go to TestMyCam.com (yes, it's safe). If you have video there and not in Skype, remove and reinstall Skype. If it's not redetected in the Device Manager, it's likely broken (yep, they do break).
You need to configure Skype with the model WEBcam and mic. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the WEBcam. Also check the Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save. Avoid connecting the WEBcam to an USB hub.
if you have already bought your web cam, install the software first, then connect your web cam. google chat, aim, skype, yawhoo, all allow using the web cam for chats. there are many other programs out that will do the same thing. skype is the only one of the ones that i just listed that charges.
Before you can use your webcam in any chat program you have to configure it to that program
Start Skype.
On the Tools menu, click Options. In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings. Select your webcam as the default microphone. (If it has a built-in mic) In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings. Select your webcam as the default. Click Save. Test your webcam by making a Skype test call.
