There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try:

1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

I hope this helps. Joe

I have a panasonic PT-51HX41E 52" projection tv

A tech might be able to get into the hidden tech menu---sub brightness and sub contrast settings are there and it is not real easy to get into and does vary from model to model---access is with the original remote.

A suggestion if you can not or do not want to pay would be to search with Google and the model number for a "Service Manual" which will in it have instructions and indicate how, it will also have a list of items in that menu---be careful what you adjust there.

Greeting: I have a panasonic PT-51HX41E tv and when I turn the Imaje is hard like 3 seconds and off. Then unplug and re-provided plug and turn on and does the same, thanks for your help.....

Look to see if sets power light blinks a sequence after it shuts off. The most common on this model is a series of either three OR five blinks.

Let me know what you find and I will assist you.

Remote control programming code

you can look up all the different codes in the remote manual. if you do not have that look up the codes for the brand of remote online or turn on the set and put the remote in the aearch mode and you might be able to find it that way. kind of dificult to tell you without the brand of remote you have!

PANASONIC PT-51HX41E

The convergence amps have most likely failed. That unit takes two STK392-110 (Sanyo) amps. For more reliability I'd have them changed using an STK392-150. They have a greater amperage and higher heat tolerance.
It's clearly a job that you want a qualified shop to do.. Call around and get some off-the-cuff estimates on what they charge to change out the convergence amps and tell them that you would prefer they use the 150's instead of the 110's.. They'll probably wonder how qualified you are. :)
