Replace a motor belt for sewing machine

When replacing a motor belt on my Singer Futura 920, are there any markings that need to be matched? Any other adjustments that might need to be made after a belt breaks? Out of time? I have replaced the belt and a shaft washer, new needle, but cannot get a smooth stitch. changing the upper tension does nothing to change the stitch. Bobbin winds smoothly. needle to hook looks right as do the timing marks on the needle bar.
Thanks for any help.

I always thread my machine with presser foot up, tension between 4&6 Also tried threading maching thrrough take up lever. Put presser foot down and pulled on thread while changing upper tension dial from 0-9. No change in resistance on thread. I'm stuck.

The top tension is dependent not just on the tension dial, but also on the little disks that you go through to thread the machine. If it is not threaded correctly, you will get bunching underneath. Sometimes I just have to rethread the machine-- when you get to the disks- hold the thread taut and push it through the disks before going up to the arm part. Here is a threading picture I found- but it doesn't point out the disks too much. Once the machine is stitching nicely, then the tension dial can be used to flatten out the stitches.

Who uses a Singer 6235? How would you compare it to the Futura II 920? Anyone know the original retail price of either machine?

THE SINGER 6235 ARE BOTH GOOD. I'VE LOOKED AT THE FUTURA AND BELIEVE IT IS NEWER THAN THE 6235. THE FUTURA WILL GIVE MORE CHOICES OF STITCHES. EITHER ONE WILL BE A GOOD PURCHASE. EITHER ONE WILL BE HEAVY SO YOU KNOW THERE IS A LOT OF METAL FOR LONG LIFE. THE ORIGINAL PRICE IS HARD TO FIND OUT. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW TODAYS SELLING PRICE YOU CAN CHECK EBAY FOR A GOOD INDICATOR. THE PRICE AT THE TIME YOU ARE SPEAKING ABOUT MIGHT HAVE BEEN AROUND $200-$400.

Thread keeps bunching on the bottom of the material when I sew. Have a Singer Futura 920

Generally bunching underneath is related to the top tension. Check your tensions - you might have to fiddle around a bit to get it right

Is there an alturnitive program for singer futura ce-100 embroidery machine?

No, there isn't. Wish there was. The only place you can get it is from Singer by purchasing a replacement CD from them.

Singer Futura II - Model 920 Sewing bottom thread is very loose, top thread perfect. Lost manuel in move. Dianne

This happens when we forget to have the presser foot raised when threading.

What looks like the fault of the bobbin is actually the top thread not forming a tight stitch with the bobbin thread.

When the machine is threaded with the foot down, the tension control is closed and the thread cannot enter the control as it should. When you begin to sew, the tension control cannot do it's job.

If the machine is already threaded, lift the presser foot and pull about 10" of thread from the needle, or re-thread the machine with the presser foot up.

Singer futura 920 sewing machine

I have this machine for more than 30 yrs-- when this happens, the top thread is not pulled through the little disks correctly when you go up before getting to the arm. Here is a threading diagram
