My laptop flashes back to the screensaver on it's own while I'm still working on it

Do a hard re-boot, hold down the power button until the lap top turns off. Then re-start and check to see if everything is ok.

It means that there is no video signal from your video card. 1. Check the video cables 2. Try connecting your internal video card if you have one or change the card with new one.

The option is under Screen saver options or there is an idle time shut off selection under Power Saver options as well. When you select your screen saver there is are specific options to customize how it shows and how long before it activates. Some screen savers have more options than others.

Remove screensaver and sleep settings. And wait for the same duration. It is goes blank and locks up, report again. Else it is a problem with the screen saver. Change the screensaver and try again

Check to make sure the screensaver settings are correct. Adding RAM to a PC won't change how the screensaver works, unless you also added some software that is not letting it sit idle long enough for the screensaver to come on.

Maybe cuz of screensaver. disable the screensaver.

there must be some problem with the hardware of screen. get it checked from a professional
