3 blinks in that model means convergence. change your convergence ICs and possibly the resistors located right next to them. Thats what is causing your set to go into protective mode and the blinks are a self diagnosis feature. Let me know if you need any additional info.

Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.

Sounds like its shutting down because of the b+ regulation circuit isent working and going into HI Voltage shutdown or theres a fault in the horizontal drive circuit. If your not a tech and now about serviceing the HI VOLTAGE in a tv set then PLEASE seek a service tech to assist you with this repair. Sorry i couldnt assist you more with this. Good Luck
