Question about Acer AL1715 (Black, Silver) 17" LCD Monitor
I have had a lot of these in over the years. The fault in almost all of them was bad capacitors.
This is an easy thing to repair if you know how. If not I would advise handing it to your local TV tech. It should not cost alot to have repaired.

We have two of these, bought in March 2005. After 3.5 years now, one will not light up (one was also serviced a year ago). But now no longer under warranty. The green light comes on; I see a flicker or attempt to light up then the green light goes out. This repeats indefinitely.
Same problem
Mark, I have the same issue in 3 monitors... would u know which location on the cct board commonly holds the faulty caps?
