use white lithium grease and the plugs are on just about every movable part on front end,ball joints, ty rods etc. on the driveline ends on transfer case to wheel, on drive line carrier bearing and on each u joint on each end of drive line and I think theres a couple on the rear end assembley somewhere.
I think you'll find that the solenoid is part of the stater assembly itself. If the V6 is anything like the 4 it isn't especially fun to remove the assembly. http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1993/starting.html
The salvage yard is 100% wrong. 4Runner doors are markedly different. No 4Runner with 4 doors will fit any pickup truck
The only way to get a door that fits is from a TWO door 4Runner.
I replaced the malfunctioning “thermal actuator” with the “Warn” Vacuum actuator setup, it’s been working great for about 7 years now, simple install, if I remember correctly, it was about $150.
That’s what engages the front diff into 4wd.
