Try shutting down the spooler temporarily:
in Windows, go to Control panel/administrative tools/services/print spooler. Then turn it back on. Works for me when it gets stuck.

Ok...first thing...go to www.hp.com and download a fresh set of drivers for your printer, and then restart it and see if that helps. I have that happen to my G85 whenever the power gets awful(not saying that's your reason, but can be an issue)..

got backup?

HOW DO I CLEAR MEMORY ON AN HP G85 PRINTER?

Worst case, if you turn the printer off and then back on again it should clear its memory.
However, if you have any print jobs stuck in the queue, you will need to clear them to.
To do that, open the printer folder, double click on the printer in question, and you'll see if their is any jobs in the queue.
Right click on each print job and click cancel, then click delete.
If some fail to delete, dont worry, just reboot and they should be gone.

CONNECTED HP OFFICEJET G85 DIRECTLY TO LAPTOP, WON'T PRINT

Make sure this printer is selected as the default printer. Check printer preferences to make sure all settings are correct then try printing a test page using the windows software. Hope this helps.

Officejet G85 printer

If you previously were using a parallel connection for the G85 you will need a USB cable.

If your laptop is running Vista the G85 will work as a printer, I do not think there is a scanner driver for Vista for the G85. The G85 print driver is built into VIsta, you only need to turn on the printer and install the USB to have the printer automatically installed.

Contents alignment on printed/copied paper

I would recommend a good cleaning of the rollers with a damp rag (old t-shirts are great for this). Some canned air to blow out the insides always seems to improve operation.
If this is helpful to you, would you please rate this solution? Thanks!
