?????????? Need a specific question. Otherwise, power it and look for a power on led light. Plug in two or three computers on a small network and count one blinking light for each computer. Voila!

Vlan trunk on summit 24e2

Extreme uses tagged and I untagged instead of trunk/access, so it would look like this for a trunk:

conf vlan test add port gi1 tagged
(and of course you could put other VLAN's on this same port too since it's a trunk)
conf vlan user1 add port gi1 tagged

and this for handoff:

conf vlan lam test add port fa1 untagged

This is usually caused by a bad async controller where dc voltage is not supplied to the ports. There is nothing you can fix to make it pass the check.

The 4 network connection are blinking al the time The connection led home is not on

The 4 Network connection are blinking means there is some traffic passing on those ports.
Please try to do some ping test between the 4 PCs which are connected to that switch.
If ping test is fine that means some problem with the LED Home but not with the entire box

Netgear JFS524 network cable unplugged error on all pc'c

Hi Ewan,

How is the modem/router connected to the switch?

Have you tried changing the patch cable that connects them together, or the port they are connected from?

When troubleshooting this type of issue, it is always best to check each layer of connectivity (1-Physical,2-Data Link, 3-Network Addressing, etc.) in order from bottom to top, due to each layer being dependent on the layers before it.

DNS is important but wont be available until you have a physical connection and a IP address.

If you can achieve a stable connection while the PC is connected directly to the modem/router, but not via the switch then work your way from one end of the link between the working component (in this case the modem/router) to the other (PC) - testing each part along the link.

If the switch is faulty after you have performed some testing, it is best to change it out and test with another switch (if avalible), before purchasing or sending the JFS524 away for repair (if still under warranty).

Let us know how you go with the testing.

There are 6 potential volume adjustments for an Analog Tenor.
Rx & Tx at the Phone, Line & IP - Adjust them carefully, 1 dB at a time. There are some tests that can be run to test impedance too, which will ultimately affect audio quality.
