Question about Nextar MA566 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Reset usb port

I have a Nextar MP3 Player, the first time I connected it to my computer it worked just fine. The second time I tried to connect it, it would not work and said that my USB Port has to be reset.

I know it is not my MP3 Player or the cable, they both work just fine on my laptop, just not on my other computer. I also know it is not my computer, I have a scanner hooked with USB and tried the cable in all of them and it works just fine in all of them. I have researched and researched and it says to delete my usb ports and reinstall them, and I do not know how to do that. If you can give my any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

The battery is not charging

You can try and reset the player. resetting a Clip player: 1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power switch. 3. To turn the player on, slide the Power switch up then release instantly.
Some things to check for when your player does not act like its taking a charge.
USB Cable Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable that came with your player.
Computer in Hibernation mode Make sure the computer isn't entering hibernation or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be ON in order to charge your player.
USB Port 2.0 Make sure the player is connected to a USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).
USB Port location Try plugging into different USB ports (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); occasionally the front USB ports have limited power to charge up the device.
Battery Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.
Latest firmware Depending on what Sansa player you have, make sure it's up to date with the latest firmware.
AC charger (optional) AC chargers (sold separately) have a 500-1000 milliamp max output, which provides much better charging ability than a USB port.

I don't know about your model MP3 player, but most MP3 players charge via the USB cable. Just connect the MP3 player to a computer's USB port to charge the player or a USB charger.

I don't know how to charge it

The MP3 player is charged by connecting the USB cable from the player to the USB port on the computer or on a USB power supply adapter. Don't forget to turn on the MP3 player.

When i conenct the mp3 to my computer, it wont show as a removable disk. waht do i do?

Try first connecting the player on a different USB port so we can check if this is a problem with the port, but if still not detected by your computer better connect it on a different computer so we can check if the player is the one that is bad....

Plugged in usb cable and it pops up found new hardware, but keeps trying to find driver....I bought three of these for my kids...two worked fine this last one does not work at all..HELP!!

I hope you aren't connecting them all to your computer at once. If that is the case, connect them one at a time and see for yourself the amazing results!

But of course, that's me being a pessimist. Use the same USB outlet for all 3 mp3 players, make sure it's the same cable too. That's to eliminate any possible problems with other USB outlets. Hopefully all 3 work, if not then update your USB drivers. Any free online driver checking program can update drivers.

If the one still doesn't work, call up Nextar and arrange with them to fix your player. You still have that 90 day warranty, eh?

I never had a problem charging the nwz-b135 mp3 player up before but for some reason it is no longer recognizing or charging up the mp3 player when i connect it to the computer

Please try following troubleshooting to determine the issue and resolve it:
(i) Try connecting to different functional USB ports on a Computer.
(ii) Try connecting to different fucntional USB ports of different Computers.
(iii) You may also try pressing and holding the Reset button for 30 seconds. You can locate the Reset button near the strap hole.

If the issue persists even after performing all the above steps then service will be required.

Nextar MA 166 MP3 Won't Charge

You have to install the software for the mp3 player BEFORE connecting the mp3 player to the computer, or else Windows XP will override the native drivers. That particular Nextar is not compatible with Windows Vista, so you may have a problem if you have a newer computer.

You have all posted different issues into one forum - bad idea.

For the laptop people - many laptops have USB ports that do not have enough power to drive/charge an Mp3 player - must use USB 2.0 ports.

"HD Audio Bus" guy - go here for the missing driver: Go to Microsoft's own site, and try the hotfix/driver:

Woest - Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
