Loose lenshood The built-in lenshood is loose. How can I fix it?

I have the same problem with mine. I think it is just poor design . I have not got a solution except to glue it down and find a stepping ring that will fit on the end. It is an awful thing to suggest with a Leica lens but what else can you do. I do not know what head gasket markers are that the other person suggested. Ideally I would like to remove the hood altogether but I cannot see how to do that without disassembling the lens.

Sony a350. Camera motor makes grinding noise when turning on and off. Noise lasts 1-2 seconds. Was not dropped or bumped. Local camera shop said lens not camera.

A few years ago that noise was extremely common on almost all body motor driven AF lenses, and it's not exactly uncommon these days.

Your kit lens is not bad, but it is built down to a price as a get-you-started measure. It's not built as well as the upgrade alternatives and is certainly not built to last nor with repairs in mind.

Your fix is to eventually replace your lens, preferably with one which has a built in motor which will be near silent and far faster to focus. Note that if your lens has become harder work for your camera body focus motor to operate then it will put an extra strain on the motor and can shorten it's lifespan.

My Nikkor 18-55mm lens is jammed and inside there

Hi. I have this same problem. Have you managed to fix it yet? I've been told that it would cost £100 to fix it, plus a charge of £20 to send it away.

Loose mount and foucs ring will not turn

The short answer is "you don't"! Take it to a professional camera repair man. If you try to fix it yourself, you will quickly end up with a table full of parts and no way to put them back together. Typically, lenses are made like complex jigsaw puzzles. If you try to fix it yourself, you will fail and it will cost substantially more to have it repaired then it would if you had not tried to repair it yourself.

The zoom creep is an easy fix for Canon. I really do not recommend trying to tighten it yourself, since that would void your warranty.
It is usually free to tighten the zoom ring.

Problem with Phoenix telephoto lens

Send it in. Don't even think of trying to fix it yourself. Once you start to disassemble the lens, you will find it impossible to reassemble it yourself. Lenses are often designed so that following the order of disassembly in reverse will not work on reassembly. It is allot cheaper to pay for the repair of your problem then to pay to reassemble a collection of parts.

Detaching Lens Hood

I'm not sure of the exact model number of your lens, but the hood should have a bayonet flange and rotating it in one direction or the other should allow it to then simply pull off.
