Unfortunately the website of the manufacturer is useless because is NOT ACCESSIBLE [http://www.nav-cam.com]. Usually on the website most of the GPS devices manufacturers' are offering updates [firmware & maps]. Thinking of this "special" case of Nav-Cam all you can do is to connect the company: # by telephone - 866-268-8515 # by e-mail - USAsupport@nav-cam.com
1. Download the SONYNAVU_U73T_3.2.CN.BIN file to a temporary or download
directory. 2. Connect your nav-u personal navigation device to the
computer using the supplied USB cable. 3. Power on your nav-u
personal navigation device and wait until the "Connect to PC" message is
displayed on the nav-u screen. 4. Start the nav-u Tool software on
the computer. 5. At the "nav-u tool" window, click "Upgrade System". 6.
On the right side of the Upgrade Screen, verify that the target version
is 3.00. 7. On the left side of the Upgrade Screen, click the
"Browse" button, and go to the directory where the
SONYNAVU_U73T_3.2.CN.BIN file was downloaded and then click "OK". 8.
In the "Name" box, click to select "3.02 cn NV-U73T" update, and then
click the button. 9. After the update file is transferred to the
nav-u device a "Transferring Upgrade file completed." message is
displayed on the computer. 10. After the system software update is
complete, the nav-u device will automatically shut down and restart.
Sorry, here is the bad new,
Sony Canada told me that my NAV-U70 does NOT have sufficient memory to drive the next Navteq update (which will be offered by Sony) and guess what, that update is not even available yet, may be in a couple months or weeks, Sony don't even know when!!!
After spending over 500 CDN$ (tax incl) for my NAV-U70 2 years ago at Best Buy store, Sony Canada do not care at all either Best Buy, they offered me 100$ which I can use on other Sony products, well... will I buy something else from Sony... not sure! :-(
Hi, I have the same problem too. I desperately need the software as i bought a unit with no sd card. Your links are there on the driveway but clicking on them reports a HTTP status 500 error. Please provide new links or could you possibly email to me ?
Thanks very much in aticipation.
All you guys, I can help you install IGo8 or other software for your gps with the latest maps and I need the copy of the flash memory for my defective unit. Normally this unit (at least mine did) look for mobilenavigator.exe on sd card so you can put other software on the card, rename the folder to mobilenavigator and the executable the same mobilenavigator.exe and you have Igo8 for example working on your device. And for helping me you put instead of mobilenavogator.exe a program called romdump.exe (but ofcourse you have to rename it to mobilenavigator.exe to run). Atfer that this program that I can provide by email will copy the content of the flash memory to SD in a .bin file that I can prelucrate to create the firmware update file and you will be protected in the future if you mess something up.
