thanks for the quick response: This is a CDMA network phone, the other is the SIM card, they are very
difficult to unlock, it can be done but you need to understand the
system, here is a link to show you how and what you need to unlock the
phone so it can used on a Verizon network.

    unfortunately, i don't understand it.

i don't want to use verizon, i want to unlock the phone (which used to be Sprint provider) to use w/ an international SIM card (from

so how do i unlock it?

where is the old SIM card? & does it have to be removed, to put in the new one?

& where does the new SIM card go? (it's not under the battery, as i've read online... or if it is, it's NOT AT ALL apparent where it might be)

so could you, perchance, shed some light on these questions of mine?

much appreciate your time & expertise!

hmmm... i just submitted my response to your response, but the system took me back to my original question & your original response.

does that mean you got my submission? (asking 'huh?' )

    things that make you go....hmmmm?

You have to understand the system before you can even start to do the unlock, it requires manipulation of software functions and adding lines of code, it is not fro the amateur, it would be best if you just paid a small fee and had the phone unlocked instead of frustrating yourself with this. here is a lindk to unlocking a cdma cell, also a SIM and a cdma phone can't used on the same network, it is one of the other, Verizon Sprint are the big guys in the cdma technology, T-Mobile and AT and T are the guys with SIM card networks, which is the easiest one to work with or unlock.

read the info at the following link then go to the next link.

How to Unlock a CDMA Phone

    Contributor By eHow Contributing Writer
    Article Rating: (0 Ratings)

Many users of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) phones will wish to unlock their phones for various reasons, from saving on phone bills when travelling abroad, to buying a second-hand phone that may be locked, or for switching from one service provider to another. Unlocking CDMA phones, which do not have a SIM card, is similar to reprogramming the entire phone.

    jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){
    jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); });

    Difficulty: Moderate

    1. Step 1
Get the unlock code or MSL (Master Subsidiary Lock) from the mobile service provider. The customer care representative will be able to obtain the code.

    2. Step 2
Download the software to be used in generating the code. It's available on various websites (see Resources).

    3. Step 3
Obtain the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number of the cell phone. Switch off the phone in order to locate this number, which is at the back of the phone underneath the battery. It's usually 15-17 digits and the slashes and the letters are not included. In case the label is unreadable or the phone is not available, check the manufacturer's white sticker on the packaging.

    4. Step 4
Use the software that you have downloaded to key in the model of the particular phone. Put back the battery and switch on the phone.

    5. Step 5
Key in the code immediately after switching the phone. It's important to note that spaces in the code should be ignored. In cases of # symbols the procedure is as follows: press the * key two times to get a '+', three times to get a 'p' and four times for 'w'.

    6. Step 6
When you are through with keying in the code, a message saying 'Restriction off' will appear on the screen depending on the model of the phone. If no message appears, try entering another code. If a message saying 'Cannot undo restrictions' appears, that means the phone is hard-locked.

My Audiovox 8910 will not turn on evenafter buying anew battery

This is not likely a battery issue but is indicative of a phone that has gotten wet or has been infected with a virus or has other software issues. We work on cellular phones and would be willing to look at your phone to see if the phone numbers and pictures can be retrieved. Call 1-800-297-5550 and speak with Debby, 9 - 5, M - F, EST for shipping info. You can also contact Audiovox in NY to arrange for out-of-warranty repairs but they will not save your data as a part of the repairs.

"User Data Is Being Restore..."

Ok - been researching this for a year or so - Apparently this is likely to happen if you delete something on the phone like contacts or messages or apps etc. and the phone doesn't have the memory available to handle the process... there is also some data that is added or moved during the shutdown process, so even if it looks ok to go, there might actually be a problem on restart. Not quite a solution, but at least an answer... It would appear from all sources that recovery from this is not possible - I have not found anyone who successfully even reflashed it with original software.

This is my 8th 8915 which is also prone to this - and it fits exactly with the pattern of destruction. I actually was avoiding deleting items via data cable b/c someone advised me that would be bad... turns out to be just the opposite! So watch your memory limits when adding contacts and apps with this phone.

My guess is that this is applicable to the entire family of pantech pn-200,212,215,300 .utstarcom 7025/7075.audiovox 8610, 8900, 8912, 8915, 8920, etc, that were similar
